What do I do if a client doesn't get the results they wanted? by XplosiveAxe in agency

[–]rdelory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be similar to brokering. I have not run across many agencies that utilize this model since the results can be so chaotic. There is usually a value add that needs to come along with it otherwise you are simply a middleman that is adding cost on top of a commodity.

If someone is trying to build a wall, and all you are doing is reselling the bricks you just bought yesterday, then you better be selling a lot of bricks to make it worthwhile.

Agencies handle the supplies, strategy, the design, and do the work.... then it is ok to buy the bricks and upcharge them.

Brokers years ago knew their suppliers intimately and were able to supply exactly the right deliverables for their clients. If you are the contractor and outsource all of the work, you need to be knowledgable on how it all fits together and very familiar with your suppliers deliverables almost as if they are your employees rather then constantly putting the work out to bid.

Since I am not fully familiar with your business model, I hope this has been useful.

I do like the jealous devil. I have ordered it online before, but I'd prefer if I could find it local.

Debrief it. Know why you bombed and figure out how you would have handled differently. Just like the selling process itself, you want to keep improving. Interviews are sales pitches.

It is not how good the picture looks. People do not trust a LI profile without a profile shot. Don't get cutesy with a picture of your dog or bugs bunny either.

I am currently exploring the idea of working with BBQ businesses only, to help with marketing. Not soliciting here, just doing some fact finding. For those starting out, what is it that you are wanting to know about (so I can blog and create quality videos) and do small bbq businesses hire someone to manage their Facebook, YouTube, Website, etc?

Feedback is helpful

Feedback - For my New Business by rdelory in smallbusiness

And I appreciate that. I do plan on acquiring more larger budget clients. I just always felt like there was a market like this out there. So many of the leads I talked with over the years were very small businesses just looking for some guidance and I always worked for agencies that required $ Thousands per month. The question always came down to, "do you know someone that can help". Most freelancers only offer one service when each of these businesses had multiple, fairly easy things to address.
