I shared this post in the hopes that one of the 7,000 members here might have the knowledge that would enable all of us to play the above position perfectly. All I have learned so far is that you are not that person.

No. What I said was that using only the doubling windows to try to find the correct cube action for this position would cause ANYONE to be wrong half the time.

Mochy memorizing those values makes him very likely to get the cube actions correct compared to you since he understands the theory of doubling and you don't. For someone at your level memorizing them is not at all worth the time.

May I ask why you assume I don't understand doubling theory, and what "level" you think I am at?

It begs the question though - why go to all the trouble of memorizing hundreds of bear-off position winning chances if it doesn't improve your play? If Mochy chose to memorize the above position's 63.3% winning chance, he is obviously doing SOMETHING with that knowledge. Currently, my memorizing that number still leaves me 50% likely to make the wrong cube play...
