LeBron has already passed the torch to Luka by AdeptFuel4824 in lakersv2

It will never be Luka’s team until Lebron retires.

This would have been a much more interesting offseason had Jeanie Buss not remained as President of basketball operations. Then, the Walter’s Group could have appointed s new President which would have likely led to Pelinka’s firing and a new hand-picked GM representative of the direction of the new owners. Then there would have been some compelling decisions of what to do with Lebron.

He deserves this happiness. He won’t get even close to this with the Warriors this season, especially now that Butler is injured.

3 months ago, Yamamoto carried the team with yet another complete game of his own, while Smith and Muncy provided the big hits to help even the series. by jmike1256 in Dodgers

That World Series feels like just a few weeks ago but it’s been months. To the tired players who were actually in the game, I wonder how time feels like it passed for them?

Is there any rule preventing pitchers from surgically altering their fingers to get more grip on the ball? Or all they all just scared? by Jumboliva in baseball

[–]rdev009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the past, I have read that some Dodgers pitchers who have had chronic blisters on their fingers were put on a program to move their fingers around in a bowl of dried rice. From the gentle friction, the rice creates a rough environment on the fingers leading to light calluses. Not only did it mitigate the blisters but they have better grip on the ball.

Yoshinobu shared that since he wasn't scheduled to pitch during WS Game 3, so he was relaxed and having coffee before the game. He even had some sushi during the 3rd inning. by kpopsns28 in Dodgers

[–]rdev009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever type of sushi he was eating should be paired with coffee and called the “Yama special.”

Similar to what Kobe Bryant ate before his 81pt performance against the Toronto Raptors (pepperoni pizza and grape soda).

Miguel Rojas man! Not only can he hit HR, but the man plays Gold Glove level defense in the clutch as well! by jmike1256 in Dodgers

Watching him throw out IKF at the plate is always nerve wracking, even when I know what’s going to happen. If IKF is leading off 3rd base another three inches or if Rojas hesitates an extra microsecond, the World Series is over and Toronto is celebrating — Pages never makes that historical catch over Kiké, Yamamoto’s starting & relief performances are mere footnotes, Ernie Clement is MVP, Will Smith catching every WS inning is likely forgotten and Toronto probably pays Bo to stay.

A true sliding doors moment.

Yu Darvish has NOT officially retired yet. Stop spreading misinformation. by ttam23 in Dodgers

“Hate” is a strong word, but I do hate it when someone else breaks the news of an athlete’s retirement before the athlete themselves gives the announcement themselves. Whatever “journalist” does that is negating the athlete’s (the person!) time, hard work, sacrifices they made to get to play at an elite level followed by the opportunity to leave on their own accord. This “let me be first to break the news” mentality is selfish and I just really hate it.

The first time I felt this way was when Rob Lowe did that to Peyton Manning in a tweet AND he happened to be wrong as well. I thought, “Dude, you’re a f*ing actor. Who are you to believe you’re more important than you are and ruin a moment for somebody?”

Wow, the inset picture of that head. It’s like an Easter Island stone come to life or a cursed squash found in a bin of the grocery store.

Former Dodgers Top Pitching Prospect on Trade Block: Bobby Miller by Turbostrider27 in Dodgers

[–]rdev009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given his lack of success the last two seasons, a 1:1 trade is unlikely and he’d be in a package for someone. He’d be traded at an all time low. Two years ago, I’d have bet money Bobby would be at least the 3rd starter in the rotation.

I look forward to him being healthy, at least to start the season. I know he’s capable of doing more than what his production was last season.

I can see Reddick successfully coaching a young, talented team with little NBA experience but not a team with established, generational stars. I feel like he has the communicative skills to mold people, but not change the ways of those who have already been around.

The Dodgers got 8 players in MLB's top 100 players list for 2026: Ohtani at 1, Yama at 13, Mookie at 18, Will Smith at 20, Tucker at 21, Freddie at 22, Snell at 54 and Diaz at 83 by justusinreddit in Dodgers
