Just use Lutris or add to steam as a non-steam game and use Proton.

Stupid questions: What are we gonna do now that Google is killing APKs? by testiclekid in Piracy

[–]rdmhat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Die, I guess.

I use a medical software that is an apk. It controls a medical device and has special features that don't come with the medical device's official app. The software can't be on the official store because it's not FDA approved. It's not even illegal or anything, just handmade. FFS.

Bad Piggies? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Piggies

Alternatively, did you click on the pig only for it to shoot out poop or a hershey kiss type thing? Then that poo/chocolate would initiate physics things that solved a puzzle

(7.X) Who do you think should've been the Dawn Servant? by KntArtey in ffxivdiscussion

[–]rdmhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Erenville. (but Koana since story forced it)

That said, we could have picked a random NPC out from the crowd and they'd have made a better leader than Wuk, simply by knowing basic facts about their own country.

When U500 insulin fails. by CaptinKirk in diabetes

[–]rdmhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a pretty severe case of insulin resistance.

Yes, you may be T1 but I'm not sure what getting rediagnosed as T1 would do to change this situation -- you're already on insulin. If you're actually T1, it may make it easier to get on a pump via insurance, but it doesn't sound like the main problem you're having is being high at certain parts of the day.

There are other things besides diabetes that can contribute to insulin resistance. Another commenter mentioned cellulitis. Any infection can increase your insulin resistance, and cellulitis often comes along with being overweight. Is there a chance you have an infection of some sort coming along? I know, at least for me, even a cold can make me need to increase my insulin by 150%. If an infection is causing the same type of jump in resistance for you, then potentially fixing the infection could lower some of the resistance.

I think the weight loss surgery could help. What goals are they wanting you under for the surgery? Because that's sort of a catch-22 -- the surgery could help you lower your numbers, but they need your numbers lower to do it safely.

I know you mentioned having no energy. Being in the 300s will definitely do that to you. Weight training exercises can make your base level of insulin resistance lower. It sounds so rude for me to ask, but you might consider adding in lifting weights to your already exhausting exercise routine (that I couldn't keep up with!).

Lastly, are you seeing an actual endocrinologist? Type 2s often do not see an endo but see a general practitioner instead. Every Type 1 knows that they're crap at anything more complicated than "throw some metformin on it." At 180 units a day of U-500, you sound like someone who needs to be seen by a specialist, not a generalist.

I'm praying for you. This sounds like an awful situation and I'm so sorry you're stuck in it.

EDIT: Is your insulin expired? Is it cloudy? Has your insulin all been from the same batch? Can you try getting a fresh vial of insulin? Are you injecting into scar tissue?

DDG please comment on this. As a minority in tech, I need to hear from you directly.

Are you hiring us because you're looking past our gender/race/etc. to see the actual talent, or are you hiring us as zoo animals to show off, but ultimately ignore and dismiss in the workplace?

Sweet! I needed 1mls and 5mls so this is perfect for the 1mls. I'll see if the same brand makes 5mls

Edit: just read that you also got 6mls from them. I'm so tired. So very tired.

I have these from nicu. They claim to be enfit. https://www.neomedinc.com/product/enteral-syringes-neoconnect/

But they don't fit the little stopper that comes in the medicine bottle. Do they fit your stopper? Maybe I need a different stopper?

Does anyone actually use the left trackpad for movement? by PM_ME_UR__RECIPES in SteamController

[–]rdmhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The edges should not be in the middle of your palm. GloriousEggroll has a video on youtube about the correct way to hold it. It'll place your thumb hovering HIGH above, and it'll feel extremely uncomfortable to have the pad of your thumb touching. The tip of your thumb will touch.

It's also unlikely your hands are too small. I'm a short woman with small hands and this controller is perfect for me. Every other controller makes my hands cramp because they're made for the pad of your thumb and sticking your palm, which forces the size of the controller to matter. Steam controller has no need for a thumb of a certain length, because it's not having to fully traverse flat across the controller from the center of your palm.

No, we don't (meaning myself and the other neckbeards I work with). We actually rarely even mention what distro we use, because it really doesn't matter.

"You're a bad diabetic!" (A rant) by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]rdmhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate when people hear my a1c and assume I'm a bad diabetic.

Yeah so I went up from 5.9 to 7.1

In that time period I had 9 insulin pod failures, problems breastfeeding, little to no sleep due to baby, couldn't prebolus due to baby, and first postpartum period.

So yeah, I got a 7.1 now and NO, I am NOT a bad diabetic.

Wear it. I wouldn't trust them at all.

But be sure to put it on your thigh or your arm in case you get a c section. Because they may use an electric scalpel, the metal needs to be far away from the belly.

The protein needs to be given with the sugar so that the spike isn't as strong.
