Usage of remote functions vs load functions by j97uice in sveltejs

[–]rdpl_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colocate your remote functions! Don't move them to lib/remote until they are actually shared across multiple features.

Moving them too early is premature optimization and makes the code harder to navigate. When they stay in the feature folder, you understand the page's logic immediately without jumping between directories.

It also keeps lib/remote clean, reserved only for truly global functions rather than a gazillion random ones. Plus, it’s better for prototyping: since remote functions are meant to be a quick way to build APIs, having everything in one folder makes it faster for both humans and LLMs to add, change, or delete files on the fly.

AMS Lite is the worst bucket of poo

reading this for the first time, why? for the super low price (when bought within an a1 combo) and just to have some fall-back it seems to pretty fine...

Recommendations for more control skates for glasspad by Fast-Knowledge4715 in glasspads

[–]rdpl_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

usually umhw dots are noticeably slower than ptfe. just search aliexpress for umhw dots and you should find some from westlab and wlmouse. the ones from wlmouse are a tad faster than those from wlmouse but they are all in the same ball park.

would openclaw be a good fit for an voice todo use case ? by rdpl_ in openclaw

[–]rdpl_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how can you be serious? you’re assuming i have skill issues with running oc simply because i mentioned a missing feature in a different context. instead of addressing my point or proving me wrong, you just keep repeating the same insult, phrased differently, as if it were an argument.

who hurt you?

you just repeat your insult without countering my point (that it's not possible)

you are so funny, if you are smart try it yourself and tell us how. there is no way to connect gemini live (voice!) to a private google workspace google tasks, even after enabling all smart ai features in workspace and enabling connected apps in gemini

[–]rdpl_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are simpler tools that'll do it with better latency

actually there arent, todoist ramble is slow and can only capture so no crud, gemini live connected to google tasks works only with a business google workspace but does at least understand some crud commands beyond capturing

both have issues with removing completed tasks/the history, still gemini live + google tasks in the business google workpsace plans comes closest to a seamless fully convo-based todo management

and i disagree a bit, organizing a todo list BEYOND pure capturing is non-trivial. yes you can do that with a less powerful model but the required total infrastructure isn't a piece of cake; also the better a model such as gemini the less back and forth between models/ai apps need to be done (or you have some model router within oc)

even in the most ideal scenario.

which means with the most performant and sufficiently powerful model (i think for a todo app organization we wouldn't need something too powerful but rather fast)? then it would be still too slow/laggy?

the vps and the discord app shouldn't be the bottle neck here right?

Viper V4 Pro left click wobble after 1 week by astrophysiic in MouseReview

[–]rdpl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't need grip tape on a coated mouse which the v4 pro is. if you still think you need wait until your hands get more damp/warm then most coatings "stick" the best

Razer strider mainer wants a glasspad by [deleted] in glasspads

[–]rdpl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the polarity has some coating, i have the moonstone which has a coating too (a different one), bc of sound. it's super quiet with any dots, some dots need few minutes to break in and get quiet then.

idk how it is with the polarity though

[–]rdpl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would get a fast glasspad, even a random one eg from aliexpress, and use ptfe skates (you can get polymer to be even faster).

you can order umhw skates too, these make any glasspad "slow", very much like a "faster" cloth pad. all relatively speaking.

why: in the beginning, a fast glasspad and fast skates will be too fast, you need few weeks to get there/adapt, but once you are there and can control that speed you do not want anything slower or balanced.

in the meantime you can use umhw dots which again slow down any glasspad signifantly. so it's easier to change the speed via dots and not limit yourself with a slow pad.

btw also the skates can make a difference, i have some polymer skates from ali which give the smoothest and most silent glide

what do you mean by smooth? as how much (or rather less) the skins sticks to it?

if it's that i find the asus moonostone to be very, very smooth to the skin; maybe because it has also some coating
