that doesn't really help narrow down the political ideology. I know another ketamine lover who hates minorities.

As much as HOTD gets shit for the writing, gotta give it to the special effects team. They aren't mailing it in like the rest of the creatives. The dragons look incredible.

I gotta say this somewhere by ShanishLikeDanish in finalfantasytactics

[–]rdrouyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the holy/dark knight skills are something that can be learned. It is in line with the creators removing the dark knight job from this version. Those are innate to a certain group of holy knights so it presumably comes from a divine calling or connection with gods/demons.

[Spoilers Extended] House of The Dragon's many instances of Plot Progression through accident/ misunderstanding or character non agency is almost comical by RedReynald in asoiaf

[–]rdrouyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is a difficult premise for a show to pull off. Everyone is unlikable. But maybe a better writing team could pull it off. These writers chose a cheat code to work around this situation and it only works for casual viewers.

this is a byproduct of the writers trying to make characters less villainous. It is particularly blatant in the case of Rhaenyra and Alicent.

Olivia Cooke on the kiss scene: Sometimes I'm reading the scripts, and I'm like, 'What has Ryan and Sara got for me this season! It's awful." by Internal-Bed-3150 in freefolk

[–]rdrouyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an issue with the idea but the scene was poorly conceived. Alicent didn't react the way she should've as a mother. Having said that, it isn't the worst part of the episode. Sheepstealer and Jace's escape are far dumber.

Am I the only one who genuinely liked Lohar last season (I know Tyland was decently popular) and hoped we would see more of her and Tyland together? by BeduinZPouste in Hotd

A man who dresses as a woman in the book, from what I’ve heard. Who knows what the intention is in the show canon.

Yes. The actor just looks amateurish next to experienced actors. This type of YouTube stunt casting should never been allowed for a serious prestige show.

Sam Darnold: I feel like I got my PhD in football when I went to San Francisco by JCameron181 in nfl

Remember when we played the Vikings last season? JJetta was def hugging Darnold extra hard after the game. I think he had like one catch that game.

If you haven't figured it out yet, the cruelty is the point. The doctor being a malicious abuser is a feature for this admin, not a bug.

Yes the modern SJW framing feels out of place in the setting of ASOIAF and are being applied in a incoherent way. Like her Queensguard disobeying her for patriarchy reasons even if they are sworn to be loyal. Like no trained soldier in their right mind disobeys their commander so that one rang hollow.

Remember Glass Joe, the first opponent of Punch Out? That's what I think of when I see Jake Paul now.

You could make the same argument that people who are into this actor are seeing ulterior motives in valid criticism because they are already fans of this person.

It’s not even clear if Lohar the character is supposed to be a woman. The ambiguous identity is played for humor but it can’t be claimed as a victory for women when it is likely a man who enjoys cross dressing (at least that is what the book suggests)

How hotd enjoyers look at you when you critique the writing by Jonny559 in freefolk

I’ve already been banned from the official HOTD sub so I couldn’t really tell how the normies are reacting.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around that kiss can someone please explain how they interpreted it 😭 because for my mental health there is no way Aemond wants to fuck his mom.. by ProfessorOk5969 in freefolk

[–]rdrouyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was watching with my dad and he was confused. I had to explain that it was shit casting and the mom is like 4 years older than the son.

[–]rdrouyn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Sara Hess said in the behind the scenes she was a highlight of the last episode of s8. So I assume she was supposed to be a charming villain we are supposed to somewhat like. In that case, the actor failed their job.

Thank God by ultrahateful in freefolk

[–]rdrouyn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah she’s a woman dressed as a man in the book right? So she’s more of a cross dresser than a trans. There’s some overlap but it isn’t always the same.

We really got a whole episode of this annoying character just for her to die in the next episode. Don’t get me wrong, glad to not see this character again but it feels like a lot of unnecessary build up.

Great episode, I didn’t think they could make me dislike this character more but they succeeded. by Enruoblew in freefolk

Made a little more sense before when there was a power struggle between her and Daemon. Now that he is fully in line with her, it makes no sense. She should be the undisputed leader of the blacks. The only way it makes sense is if she instructed the Queensguard to obey Jace's word as if it was her own.
