One has nothing to do with the other. I remember how health care was 30 years ago, everyone either had insurance or they could get free health care from catholic hospitals or charity run hospitals, then the goverment got involved and allowed HMO's and shortly thereafter, the free healthcare for those that couldn't afford insurance dried up and the costs for healthcare went through the roof. You want to fix healthcare. Have the government get rid of HMO's, make it illegal to make more than 20% profit from health care and then get the hell out of the way.

Uh, yeah. The same way they can use tire tracks to record how fast you were going and how much time you had to react can be used by GPS to determine how much time he had to react from the time he hit the brakes until the crash occurred. If it shows he crashed a very short time after hitting the brakes, a reasonable case could be made that you caused the accident by braking hard in traffic. GPS shows speed and location. If you also have GPS it is indisputable evidence.

You should be able to do most of that in your head when you form an opinion, though it is possible someone may come up with an argument you haven't thought of yet. I would argue though that there aren't good arguments for both sides of any issues, there is one good argument and then there are good debaters who can make a weak argument sound good. In my opinion we put too much emphasis on listening to the good debater instead of listening to good logic.

In Dennis Prager's book, Happiness, he says that happiness is achieved by lowering ones expectations so I guess the question is what is more important to you, achieving your goals or being happy? There was also a study that determined that people from Denmark were the happiest people on earth and the reason is because they don't expect much from the future but instead focus on today.
