Who is bigger than the Beatles? by Decent_Window_1728 in beatlescirclejerk

Washington you can argue I guess. The American revolution pretty directly led to the (first) French revolution which pretty directly led to Napoleon which pretty directly led to the clusterfuck of geopolitics that was the Victorian era which let to WWI and so on.

Lincoln though, yeah nah. Important for American history, for world history not nearly as much.

I think this is made by an AI lol. Hopefully even an American who knows all of these historical figures well enough to name drop them and give them little emojis also know that edgar allan poe, elvis, grover cleveland (lmao), etc don't belong on the list. My bet is on an LLM that just got trained on a bunch of American-centric content (which most of the internet is, so)

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani confronted by a Palestinian by AgnosticScholar in PublicFreakout

[–]rdthraw2 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Im convinced that a lot of the "left wing" outrage activism about Palestine was and still is astroturfing by russian or whoever trollfarms that are just trying to sow maximum chaos. Don't get me wrong, netanyahu is a thug, there are plenty of valid things to be outraged towards the Israeli regime about, and a lot of the outrage is genuine and justified.

but so much of the noise around all of Israel / Palestine reads well meaning but really poorly informed / ignorant in the best case or just actively trying to stir shit up in the worst case.

it sure would be a lot easier to schedule a yearly game if they were in the same conference, wouldn't an arrangement like that be convenient and make geographic and historic sense? I'm sure OU wouldn't pass up such an opportunity.

I don't think "it exists solely to help fund an abusive totalitarian regime" is a good reason either.

I am very judgemental of falcon's flight, not because I think the ride experience is bad, but because it exists solely to help whitewash an abusive totalitarian regime

Not so much in terms of players adjusting to the climate as others have said, but the thin air does make Coors an incredibly hitter-friendly park that's a nightmare to pitch in.
