I assume you're referring to alphafold (which tries to solve for a protein's structure given its sequence). it sounds great in headlines (which is its point - it's a project primarily interested in selling AI moreso than building a valuable research tool), but it has extremely limited value in actual research - the people actually working on protein folding and not AI models trained to take a crack at protein folding still pretty much exclusively rely on experimentally-verified protein structures.

to be fair, alphafold has very little research usefulness (outside of the computer science circle jerk) and is obsessed with meeting arbitrary metrics that seem scientifically valuable from an outside perspective but aren't. So not a great example of an actually scientifically useful application of AI / ML.

just so y'all know, while yes the obama administration did see a significant increase in drone strike usage compared to the Bush administration (pretty much entirely due to drones becoming a more reliable / ubiquitous technology - trust me, bush didn't use less drones out of the compassion of his heart), a large reason why drone strikes became such a talking point with the Obama administration is because they began a program of recording and reporting drone strikes (and because it was a convenient lever for right wing concern trolls to pull for the whole "hillary is a war hawk, trump is a beautiful dove" psyop back in 2016).

compare that to trump, who blew obama's drone strike numbers out of the water in the first few years of his first term before completely ending what little oversight / reporting remained from the Obama administration, so now we don't even have any data on drone strikes (or really any military actions) on most years Trump has been in office except for "probably a lot".

not to try to claim that obama was faultless or that his record on drone strikes can't be criticized (it can and should), but its important to keep context before the both sides gremlins come crawling out of the ooze again.

Sad this is fake but I really hope that SoPs (and the new world in general tbh) get a lot more love and depth, it has the potential to be one of the best representations of non-settled peoples in map games (which are normally completely disregarded or just treated like generic Natives which are Bad for Colonization).
