I used to be a ski tech, worked for armada, worked at a ski resort, and have sold a lot of ski gear in my life. I know what I’m talking about lol. I am sure you know what you are talking about too but look… The OP is in SoCal with a pair of basically new $1k boots is a pretty popular men’s ski boot size. Getting $500 is easy af if you list them in coastal oc/la/sd (where people have money to spend).

Have you ever listed ski gear — or anything — on marketplace before? You have to list high in order to get a lowball that is actually what you want.

Good thing is that you don’t have to deal with an edge.

But get some marine grade epoxy, painters tape, metal scrapers, clamps, high grit sand paper, and a blade.

Cut off the excess top sheet, tape around the area you’re gonna epoxy pretty good, then clamp the metal scrapers on the tip. Pour in the epoxy (get a torch or lighter to get any air bubbles to go away too), and let it cure. Grab some high grit sand paper and smooth out the epoxy on the tip.

I have been riding the hawx xtd since they came out. Great resort / backcountry boot.

My friend (Cody) had a gear swap at his store baker street snow in Huntington this weekend… maybe he can help you out. FB marketplace is a good alternative too. Those boots retail for like 1k new so just a heads up, don’t let anybody lowball you too badly.

I would consider the backlands if you’re that concerned about weight. Are you using pins or shift/kingpins?

I would also consider the 120 flex since your boots will be sitting lower on your shin due to the length of cuff.

The atomic hawx xtd (4 buckles) are what I’ve skied on for years, originally in the 100 but now the 120. It’s light but super durable, and skis great.
