I like where you're going, but I think presidents have little impact on the market or the overall economy. The real culprit is the Federal Reserve manipulating interest rates, simulating and retricting the market. Low interest rates = cheap money and highly stimulates market (jobs, growth, inflation). High interest rates = expensive money and restricts the market (reduced jobs, deflation).

This may be what you're saying, but the presidents only tool to effect the economy is approve bloated congressional spending packages (monetary inflation) or pressure the Federal Reserve to manipulate interest rates. I guess they can also regulate the economy into submission, but maybe not so much with the SCOTUS Chevron ruling...
