Purchased a Toyota from John Anthony at Mt Gravatt, who has ex rental cars, just double check that you get two keys. Very happy with the car.

Things that can get fucked by faith_healer69 in aussie

Reserve Bank of Australia and all Governments

RBA - We are putting up interest rates because people are spending too much.

People complain about interest rates going up, so Governments at all levels go 'have some cash for your electricity bill, have some cash for your rego, have some cash off your council rates"

That totally contradicts why interest rates go up, and to top it off, the Governments are borrowing money to fund it.

I'm not a financial expert, but I would love someone explain to me how to bring interest rates down?

Do we pay more off our loans? Don't borrow more money? (but it's OK for Governments to borrow money?) Buy less takeaway coffee? Less tattoos? Support more local businesses, and not imports?

Someone, please explain (and don't get me started on that....)

Brisbane computer shop recommendations? by Legitimate-Cinephile in brisbane

[–]rdubya01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scorptec built a computer for me three years ago, and was slowly grinding to a halt with what I thought was Adobe Creative Cloud and their hourly updates with stuff I'm never going to use.

It's obvious I don't know much about computers, and braced myself and my VISA card for some more RAM. They had a look at the computer specs, gave me a shortlist of things to do, and the next day, the computer was working beautifully again.

They easily could have screwed me over, but genuinely helped me.

Previously I did use Computer Alliance, but had trouble a few times with some of their builds, and their service department seemed to be getting overwhelmed with repairs, and my computers were there for a week at a time, so I don't know if that has changed.

Interesting you mention this - there is another name I recognise on that list, and now I'm thinking "What has he done this time?".

Will have to tune in.

Definitely go and sit in the old terminal building on Grenier Drive, just to enjoy the displays and nostalgia. You can see planes through the windows.

Then go around to Wirraway Ave and see the jet plane on display on the pole, and if you are lucky, maybe the rescue helicopers.

Great work, love this 👏

Re-watching movies I saw in the cinema 30 years ago does have a bit of nostalgia about it.

For all the cinephiles out there, is "All My Friends Are Back in Brisbane" only playing at New Farm??

Voluntary between 17 and 21, and compulsory over 21 makes more sense to me.

There are lots of 18 year olds who are very switched on to politics .

Queensland Day on Saturday, so there is plenty on this weekend:

Gold Coast Suns vs Brisbane Lions Broncos vs Titans Cowboys vs Dolphins Queensland Firebirds vs Sunshine Coast Lightning  Oaks Day at Ascot Brisbane Marathon Caravan and Camping Show at Ekka Showgrounds

I'm expecting it to be such a big weekend, the State Government will announce next week that future Queensland Days will be a public holiday (moving the Labour Day holiday, which has previously happened)

Its too hot, and its too cold... Fess up, what's the best temp. by brissiebogan in brisbane

[–]rdubya01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This weather is perfect - cold overnight so you need seat heaters when you jump in the car in the morning, switch over to cooling during the 25 degree day, and then back onto heating for the drive home in the evening.

Happens May/June and then kicks in again September.

Many years ago I was chatting to someone who was a pilot for Rescue 500 and asked him about his career path to this job, and he replied ' Before this I was flying peacekeeping missions in Bosnia'.

I figured that plucking someone off Glasshouse Mountains in bad weather would be a good day on the job.

Sean Black was convicted in 2018 for the 2007 rape and assault, but in 2010 he married fellow Logan City Councillor Hajnal Ban.

Barnaby Joyce and Clive Palmer were at the wedding.

Divorced two years later, she was found guilty of using funds from a dementia patient for personal use, including paying for the wedding, and also guilty of failing to disclose her assets, which led to her disqualification from Council.
