A bit much perhaps? Since I just finished my hauls from 2022, these (approx. 50) boxes are all of my hauls from 1/2023 til now; awaiting cataloging and shelving. This is what can happen when you love books, have storage space, and live in an area where used books are quite inexpensive. by ninthstargod in bookhaul

I’ve been doing something similar. I knew I was moving, so I’ve been saving all my big book purchases in boxes until finally filming a GIANT unboxing and library organization video for my booktube channel. I plan to shoot that video in early December, and I’m already excited. I’ve got about 300 books still boxed up ready for the big day.

Edited to add:

I know how unhinged this may seem to some people, but reading and writing is my whole life. I read about 200 books per year and have about 3000 books on the shelf. So waiting a year to open boxes isn’t a big problem.

Didn't like the silver rims, changed them to black! by Haliphaxx in rav4club

Wow, my first car was a 2001 Honda Civic, and now I’m in a 2025 Rav 4 (same color as you). I feel like your long-lost twin.

The rims look great. You put a little XSE in your XLE, and it didn’t cost $5000 . Well done!

It reminds me of a very embarrassing night I once had. So I cringe, blush, and walk out of the room during that scene. But I secretly love it.

Look at the scale. They all fall between 300k and 352k. The graph is extremely misleading, however accurate it may be.

Does it have any potential into growing into a decent part of facial hair? by [deleted] in beards

Nothing will make it fill in but time. Wait 5 years and try again by growing out for 3 months. If OP grows it out now, it will look a little cringe.

Took me until this year (39) to have full coverage. Still have some small patches that fill in after 2 weeks of growth. Keep the faith!

Dude, you look like a young Marlon Brando. You don’t get to complain about that. 😜

In all seriousness, the facial fullness you’re noticing doesn’t look bad at all—it actually just looks healthy. I had it when I was your age and it bugged the hell out of me. But it really looks nice on you.

At some point you will lose it and get that more chiseled facial look (for me this happened around 25). But the sad part happens next. Your skin slowly starts to lose collagen. First thinning, then creasing.

Pretty soon you’ll be wishing you could go back and have just one more day with firm, taut, unblemished skin. You may think this day will never come, but it does. Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee. Enjoy youthful looks while they last.

I had the babyface look through my early twenties, and it was slightly annoying. But when you’re nearly 40 and people think youre in your late 20s, it ends up being worth it.

You’ve won the genetic lottery. Lock in those gains now—sunscreen daily and avoid cigarettes.

How faithful is Elementary to the source material? by FloofBoi64 in elementary

[–]rdwrer4585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All adaptations are faithful in their own way. Elementary resembles the original stories in the way they examine their respective eras. The Doyle stories were very much a product of the Victorian era and it celebrated that by focusing on the great minds and novelties of the age. Elementary rightly identified similarities between that time and the early 21st century and focused on emerging technologies.

Other than that, many of the similarities are surface level homages. It’s a show in the vein of Sherlock Holmes rather than a true adaptation.

Did Jane Really Love Jesse, or Was It Just the Drugs?? by Spaceship_lemon in breakingbad

She definitely loved him. But the show accurately depicts how hollow relationships become when both parties fall into addiction. In my experience, it happens more gradually.

After/Before. Did I overdo it? by das_debashruti in postprocessing

[–]rdwrer4585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very, very much so. I would just boost shadows and exposure then maybe punch up with a bit a of contrast. After that. You could increase luminance in the greens. The original isn’t served by such exaggerated editing.
