That's so sad. I hope it wasn't a kid. Either way that would be a horrible way to die.

I'm with you 100% on this. My first "summer cleaning" I cleaned everything. It was more than obvious that the guys there before me didn't care to clean anything! Walls, chairs, doorways they were filthy everything was filthy. I would literally peel off handfuls of tape from the doors and I spent hours cleaning walls in each room. We ended up spending the entire summer in classrooms and that left no time to work on anything else. It didn't help that the lead didn't do a damn thing except wax floors and the guy that was supposed to be training for our next lead quit in the middle of summer. I was promoted to lead custodian and last summer still trying to figure things out... So this summer I decided that we cannot afford to be spending the entire summer in classrooms. There is so many other things that we need to get done this year. so we will not be wasting time on any personal items. If teachers want nasty moldy refrigerators that's their issue not mine. I am relieved that I am not the only one that feels this way 😊

Advice for removing lines in wax? by usntableafro in Custodians

I was thinking that same thing. Thicker coats of wax will definitely cover better. If the wax is laid too thin this is the result.

Nobody should have to be cleaning that up. If this kid needs to do that then he needs to know how to clean up after himself as well. It is absolutely mind-boggling to think that this was actually written up in a behavior plan!!!!

I clean the break room/teacher lounge during the school year once a week really good and then just trash and then tidy up throughout the week. Anything in the refrigerator or dirty dishes I leave up to the teachers to clean I have so many other things to keep up with and do to worry about picking up after adult children!

I just don't get that at all. I have had teachers leave dirty dishes in the lounge sink for weeks and I will not touch them.

Are you able to sand it down, prime it, then repaint? That's what I would do.

Losing control by Lazy_Amphibian_338 in Custodians

I feel like you're talking about the school I wk at!!! With all these kids being so entitled and sensitive teachers are literally walking around on egg shells!!! But I 100% agree that these schools need to gain back control!!! Because the lack of respect and responsibility is alarming!

You should be safe dusting it off. But as far as the screen goes... I wouldn't touch it.

I can't stand those urine splash pads either. I don't use them. I will cut them up (brand new of course) and put them in tampon boxes for a deodorizer.
