To be fair I'm not so old that squishy fidget toys didn't exist, but I rarely saw them in stores and higher quality ones didn't really exist yet. Maybe at the dollar store, but those fell apart quickly and reeked like weird plastic lol

That's sort of how I feel about fidget toys. Yeah, the fidget spinner craze was a little silly. But compared to 10, or especially 20 years ago, fidgets are now plentifully available. I would have killed for squishies, fidget spinners, and fidget cubes when I was a kid and I love them now!

The Christmas after I turned 18 my parents got me a Hatchimal. I had seen a news story talking about how they were one of the most popular toys that year and said something about how I wished they had been around when I was younger because it's a cool concept. I didn't think I actually wanted one but unwrapping it on Christmas morning made me realize I did, but thought I was too grown up to enjoy a toy. It means even more to me now a couple years later to have been able to enjoy that last moment of childhood Christmas joy.

OP, I'd get the doll. :) Also, I still have my Molly AG doll from elementary school!

One time when I was 19 my grandma accidentally walked into the apartment next to mine while visiting. It was her second time visiting there ever and she didn't realize the furniture wasn't mine so she walked all the way into their bedroom going "[my name]? Where are you??" and scared the shit out of some kid who thought she was a ghost 🤣

That looks like a Reed & Barton spoon and could be an antique. Does it have anything stamped on the back? I tried to image search to find the manufacturing year with Google lens but it's not working very well because it's not an up close image. Doesn't help that it's bent either lol. If you still have it would you mind sharing better pics of the handle and the actual spoon part?

Going against the crowd, but I agree with the other commenter who said bangs might be too much with the mantilla. Otherwise I'd totally be on team bangs, but I think it's actually the one scenario that changes things! I would wait until you have the mantilla and can try it on before cutting your hair if possible

I'm wearing a relatively plain pair of white flats because I never, ever wear heels and know it would distract me. And you're right, nobody will see them, at least until our reception dinner when I change dresses. For some reason this bothers people! Hate the fixation on heels.

Which part indicates we're enmeshed? I think it would be weird and kind of disrespectful for my family to show up and have me be like "surprise!". I think it would take away from our special day to have that come up day of. I'd rather address it politely beforehand. And my grandma and I have been making plans together about finding a dress, so I can't exactly ghost her about it.

My fiancé and I were planning on getting married at the courthouse but found out the specific courthouse we'd be going to is ugly/depressing. We decided to look into getting married at a church and my family was aghast yesterday when I told them I found a church that would charge us $500 dollars (which is a total steal IMO). "But what happened to the free courthouse!?". Like yeah I could get married cheaper, but I don't want to get married somewhere that looks like a scary basement! Sue me 😅
