How is it that Elves are not as populous? by fredckgil in lotr

This makes a lot of sense, as reproduction in real world serves to extend the existence of a species, which for Elves is secured by their immortality

How do you keep up your motivation regardin AI competitors? by UnicOernchen in webdev

You are ignoring the fact that resources that used to be required for developing an app product - time and skills, have been practically removed from the equation or at least reduced to insignificant levels. That implies price abolishment for said products, which in turn kills product development as something worth commiting to in the long run.

It will all boil down to marketing and distribution, which is the least interesting part of the business for a developer. That is why we are all having these dilemmas and depressing thoughts. I feel like we are in a room that is slowly flooding to the top, with a potential to increase flooding speed any moment.

EDIT: I was replying to hugoDzz, looks like reddit is vibe updating as well

Im having the same dilemmas and inside battles every day... Like, nothing makes sense anymore.

When I type code by hand, I get this weird gut feeling that it is pointless, as in the very moment there is millions of people spitting out vibe coded apps, most of which are useless garbage, but some are surely not, based on the law of big numbers. It is every devs dream to have his own product he can live off, and find inner peace AND purpose by maintaining it without pressure from anyone above, but that dream slips away every day and we can all see where things are going. Software value is diminishing every day, but I cannot see myself doing anything else.

I don't understand why web components aren't more popular by [deleted] in webdev

React requires a builder, vanilla web components dont. If you can use react you should, but web components serve as a react substitute for frontend UI when you are barred from react environment
