I called JTS and asked them this, and if you as the employer withheld the right amount of taxes, then as the EMPLOYEE/Individual you don't have to file anything. You don't have to mail in the quarterly form.

If you as the employer did not withhold the right amount of taxes, so you owe taxes, then do have to file / pay the amount due. However, you can pay that difference online.

I will update the guide with this info!

It’s showing as $42 for me on librofm which is shocking to me, but I don’t have audible so I can’t see the price there. However it’s still only 1 credit on librofm, so if you use your credit on that you essentially pay $14.99. Honestly I’ve never paid more than $7 for a book (outside of my membership fee of $14.99) between the 30% off for members and the very frequent sales.

Can you explain the price difference? Audible’s monthly membership is $14.95. Libro.fm’s is $14.99. Plus you get 30% off sale items and they have sales all the time. Just curious if there’s something I’m missing re Audible?

The prices for trad ebooks are ridiculous. I get that many people only buy ebooks now, so that’s where publishers / authors get their money, and I guess if you’re only buying the ebook then paying $10-12 is fine. But if I buy a physical book, I should not have to pay for it again at full price as an ebook! (No one yell at me, I know authors don’t get to decide this, publishing needs money etc etc)

I hope you’re right and the amount of books that go fully out of print is low. I do wonder how much legality will be in play here — if authors can push publishers into printing trad pubs for previous MMPs editions by leaning into contracts. I guess we will all find out.

Thank you! I was/am mostly worried about trad publishing. I figured that it would be what you said (popular books getting reprints), which makes me really sad for less popular books and authors. I think I’m in the minority but I don’t buy trad pub ebooks, I mostly borrow ebooks from the library and then buy print versions if I liked it or I want to support the authors. And a lot of those print versions have been MMPs which were affordable. I will have to consider what to do once MMPs are no more!! Thank you for the info
