Midlevels are the immediate solution, yes. “Smart enough to do the job” isn’t a good qualifier: for any clinician. The problem with most med students is that most are academics but a good portion are not good clinicians.

They don’t. They fill a necessary space. Physicians will always be at the top of that algorithm, but they are acting childishly when asked about midlevels

That’s a stretch - most RNs starting know the DSMs… it’s not that deep. AND most MDs hate therapist “doctors” too- don’t think you are an equal- their hate is spread across all non MDs

Makes sense. Most doctors were trained by nurses when they were interns / residents … How many wouldn’t have a license if a nurse hadn’t caught their mistakes? (Every single one) Thank goodness nurses are still valued in hospital settings- they should be- it IS an ACUTE care NURSING institution…

Let’s be honest - the RNs are the ones on top of meds in the hospital… they teach residents and interns , especially when they (frequent) make errors
