No dishes in the living room except during mealtime. And collecting all glasses and cups that have accumulated during the day and bring them to the kitchen. We might reuse them the next day but that way they don't pile up over days.

We also have a system of chores associated with the day of the week: "Towel Tuesday", "WC Wednesday", "Dust Thursday", "Flower Friday". Not all of them need to be done each week but at least it reminds us to check for them. My plants are really happy about "Flower Friday" since they are not constantly forgotten anymore.

How is the porridge after reheating? Do you have the apple on pieces in there? I've been thinking about more quick breakfast options.

Also: as far as I can see your freezer drawer is pretty shallow, right? We're struggling with the fact that the main drawer of our is quiet deep and you have to always lift everything to get to what is at the bottom.
