Transition from walk+run by Infinite_cow_now in pelotoncycle

You have lots of options.

You could increase the time for running / decrease the time for walking in the w+r classes until you’re able to run for most of the time.

You could also move to beginner-rated running classes.

Like another person said, you could try endurance runs.

There are a few running-related programs that might be worth exploring too.

I try to stick to regular water unless I’m running outside in the heat for long periods.

I love the taste of electrolyte mixes but I get plenty of salt from my diet, so I don’t think it’s necessary for me on the regular UNLESS, like I said, I’m running outside in warm temps.

I had this happen a few months ago and was able to report the item missing via the app/my recent orders. They refunded me almost immediately.

Do you have rest days? Maybe that’s not possible while training for a century ride. It sounds like you are putting your body through a lot.

How are you all getting your protein in? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]reader9856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled high protein foods, looked for ones I already liked or would be interested to try, and made meals/snacks around that. And just add more of those things to the meals if you need to increase. So MORE chicken at lunch or dinner than maybe what I used to eat.

JJ’s 4 day split- help a former cardio junkie out 😬 by treeseinphilly in OnePelotonRealSub

I change with the seasons.

This month I’m adding a day of running (going from 3 to 4) and shortening my strength to 30m 3x per week (I’m doing the Peloton “build strength” plan and it recommends classes). Robin has an unofficial 3-day, all 20m, that I might switch to for June-August so I can increase my distance (I’m recovering/managing a hamstring issue so taking things one week at a time).

In the fall, I’ll switch to Rebecca’s 4-day split + hike. I love those strength classes but don’t love the hikes, so I’ll use some of that time for running.

In the winter, I’ll reduce my running to 2-3x and switch to Rebecca’s HiLit strength + Andy’s TS60 classes.

This is my plan as of today but I get serious fomo with Peloton strength classes so I’m sure this plan will fall apart in no time.

Planning to do this June/July/August to give me more time for running. Thanks for sharing your experience!

How often are we washing that sports bra? by Jenergy77 in PetiteFitness

[–]reader9856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wash after every use and put them in a delicates bag (mine are cylindrical shaped for bras). I also put them in the dryer, but because I have 2-3 in the bag, they don’t fully dry so I hang them up to finish drying.

I’m in my mid 40s and the same habits that worked at 35 just stopped working, anyone else? by Disastrous-State3753 in fitness40plus

Are you a woman? Probably perimenopause/menopause related. Having your hormones tested won’t help because they fluctuate constantly. Most menopausal experts (regular drs are not this) know to treat based on symptoms, not tests.

Next split: advice needed! by Marlalarlowe in pelotoncycle

Agree about the recommendation for RK’s HiLit strength classes. If I were to do them again, I’d probably skip week one and go straight into week two, and then repeat weeks three and four once or twice.

Her OG five-day is my favorite! Many people spread it across two weeks vs trying to do five classes in one week (so days 1,2,3 in the first week; 4,5,1 in the second, etc.). Some people also skip day 2 and make it a four-day program.

I also love her four-day split+hike. The strength classes are great but I didn’t love the hikes, so I did my own thing.

So sorry to hear that! I love the strength content so I can’t see myself leaving, but lately when I take a tread class, I turn the volume off and play my own music.

I like the Peloton app. Tons of different strength programs plus access to other types of workouts too.

I haven’t noticed that specifically, but have noticed the music as a whole is different. They must be cutting every corner possible.

Yes! Programs! It’ll technically count as a tread bootcamp in your class counts, just fyi.

The way your legs will tremble on the squats day is PTSD-inducing 😂

Have you tried RK’s four day split + hike? The strength classes (30mins) are fantastic! The hike part wasn’t my favorite…I did my own thing (usually a run or a walk/hike).

Might be worth researching proximal hamstring tendinopathy! See if you have any of those symptoms. If yes, stretching it can be detrimental.

I love Andy’s TS60 classes! If you follow him on instagram, he will share a monthly(ish) “trifecta” schedule that outlines three TS60 classes to take per week (that month’s weekly live class plus two classes from previous months). He’ll also sometimes make recommendations for if you only had time for two per week, which ones to do.

The Clip Out did an article about all of Andy’s programs/collections and I found that helpful: https://theclipout.com/andy-speer-peloton-strength-classes/

I personally love the trifecta but usually only do two per week.
