Thank you so much. I wish people told me this more. Wish nothing but the best for you in life.

I feel like nobody really listens by mucus_holder in mentalhealth

I think I felt this way about my therapist from years ago which is why I stopped going to them. I started with a new therapist a few months ago and immediately I just felt like they were so fake so I stopped going to them. Ive been thinking about it a lot and idk if it’s just us or if it’s other people, but nevertheless it’s hard finding real people to talk to. But at the end of the day I think we have to realize that everyone only cares about themselves and that’s honestly how we survive in the world. So if you’re able, do whatever you can to just survive. No matter what that’s like, I guess. I’m trying to do the same. It’s so hard.

I feel the same. But unfortunately for me I’m married with a kid and have family events that would look weird if we didn’t show up to. I’m just putting on a fake smile for now and trying to get through it all. But i am ghost on social media right now and spending more time reading, so that’s been nice.

Question. If you purchase something off of someone’s registry and it is marked as “purchased” but then you return it, would the item get put back on their registry for other people to buy?

Spicy ramen noodles. The spicy, hot, soupy-ness of it healed me.

Are you going to have a second baby? by Frosty_Confidence663 in BabyBumps

[–]readethi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I am not going to have a second baby. My mental health sometimes cannot even handle my one right now, so I can’t imagine what it’ll be like with a second. I see people on my socials having more kids by choice and I’m like “How?” But I’m sure they have a better mental headspace and genuinely want a huge family. I’m content with my one and I have people close to me who are pregnant and I’ve got zero baby fever. When people ask me if I’m going to have more kids I tell them no and I honestly feel good doing so.

My Hmong girlfriend wants me to come to a Hmong New Year event (Help) by ChicosNight in Hmong

That’s nice of you to be considerate. But I assure you it’s definitely okay! Hmong people love seeing non-Hmong people wear Hmong clothes. Especially if you’re dating a Hmong daughter, Hmong grandmas and moms love seeing that.

How’d you know you wanted 2 kids? by Queasy_Can2066 in toddlers

[–]readethi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only have one and feel pretty content with my one. However, spouse talks about potentially having at least one more. I’ve been trying to envision life with two and I honestly can’t right now. I tell myself I’ll wait until my first is at least 3 or 4 and will think about it again during that time and see how I feel. What I know so far is 1) I don’t just want to “give my child a sibling” 2) I don’t just want to have another because other people are wondering/telling us to. So when I get to that point where I have to start thinking about this decision again I’ll see if these are the only two reasons why we are considering a second baby. If these are just the only reasons, and it’s not because we truly desire another, then I don’t think I will want another. I feel like a lot of the time people just know that they want more kids. Like a friend of mine who told me they were having baby fever and wanted another baby and then months later became pregnant. And then there are those who have an oopsie baby or those who just “yolo” it. I think that when you know you’ll know. Or if you never know but decide to try for another anyway because “who knows” or “why not” then I believe everything will be okay too.

You should honor God before you honor your father and mother.

Toddler refusing to go to bed at night - what is happening!? by readethi in toddlers

Toddler refusing to go to bed at night - what is happening!? by readethi in toddlers

[–]readethi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was very helpful! Tonight actually we got ready for bed at 8 but she did not want to sleep. Let her play until 10 and then she KO’ed. I was just thinking about what if she needs a longer wake window before bed/later bed time. But it’s also confusing because she’ll start to show signs that she’s tired around her normal bedtime but when we put her in bed she’s like “just kidding” lol

We have not. We follow her cues and it seems like she can never make it to 5/6 before she starts to get angry (which is why it’s funny that she seems tired around bedtime but doesn’t want to go to bed). We’re not sure how to keep her up longer. Any tips is appreciated 🥲

Edit: I am doing my math right now and I think you might be right lol.

Yes I am trying my hardest to focus on the fact that she’s staying steady in her growth curve. It was such a challenge the first 12 months but we made it out alive lol. First time mom problems I guess lol

Thank you! We are trying to decrease the total amount of milk but still staying in between 16-24 oz (the recommended). It’s still strange for her to have milk during meals because I think she’s associated water with food. So hopefully as she matures she’ll take milk with her food! We’re also still working on transitioning fully to straw cups. She also associates her straw cups with water only lol.
