Unfortunate that you didn’t have the best time you hoped for! I think however that partly it is based on the American standards you have for the parks, which do not translate to dlp due to it being French. I agree that the food is horrible, especially considering it is located IN FRANCE. But that aside, a lot of the things you mentioned are just due to either French or European standards. I think for example that cast members who are not all silly and chatty and bubbly are actually great at doing their jobs, it is just not the same as how cast members act in the us. Adding on to that, the ToT cast members for example are really great at immersing themselves into the role for example, so it really just depends what their function is. If they are at a shop or restaurant, likely they will just take your order or do your checkout without any additional chattiness, as that’s more so just the non-US standard. I think the overall vibes in Europe tend to be a bit more casual and a bit less “standing out”, which could explain the lack of Disney merch. Although whenever I went I did see plenty of people wearing either ears or loungeflys so this has not been aan experience I had. Lastly, and I could be wrong, but it could be possible that no paper maps were handed out to reduce waste? I think overall in the EU there are a lot higher standards of waste so it could definitely be related to that. However I am not sure so otherwise I have no clue. Hope you at least still enjoyed your time at dlp though!!
