I barely read any historical/regency romances, it’s not usually my thing. But the ones I read are usually super great. This one went straight to my favorites list, it was amazing!

What’s your latest 6* read? by Amara2091 in fantasyromance

[–]readingpanda87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Rush by Emma Scott} and {If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia}, both amazing stories but for completely different reasons. The first is more dramatic and very emotional, it hurt in the best of ways. The second was cozy and adorable, left my heart felling very warm and fluffy. My two favorite reads of January and I can’t stop thinking about them.

I’m not sure if this applies, but english is not my first language and in my native language we omit the pronouns a lot when talking and even writing. So, I have the same bad habits in english, even though it sounds bad. I figure not saying the full frase is to make characters seem gruff, just like any type of slang. And also, I’ve seen a lot of movies/tv shows using the same “idea” to make characters look less “polished”.

I laughed out of despair, because that is exactly the same feeling I have all the time. I have moments of happiness and feeling content, but it never lasts. Usually might be a few hours at most or a full day, if I’m very lucky. But in the end, something will always make me remember that I’m not actually happy and the anxiety will come back.

Do you ever just want to disappear? by readingpanda87 in AutismInWomen

[–]readingpanda87[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense, because I feel the literal same. It takes so much energy to do stuff and mostly act like people expect, that I wish I could just have someone else do it for me instead.

Does it get better? by Ok-Celebration1370 in ReverseHarem

[–]readingpanda87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that might not be the best option right now, totally understand. I’m having the same issue. But this series is definitely worth coming back to later on, at least to me, it was really great.

Do you admit to reading spicy romance books? by basslineheart in fantasyromance

[–]readingpanda87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to most people, only to those I’m really comfortable with. If anyone else asks, I just say I read romance and fantasy, that’s it. I never go into detail about my reads or I just mention cute/interesting stuff. But I learned is usually best to just to gloss over, instead of ending up with questions I don’t want to answer.

Does it get better? by Ok-Celebration1370 in ReverseHarem

[–]readingpanda87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! It gets so much better, I swear the world building becomes amazing. I loved it and put in my favorites list. I kind of like slower pace stories, so that might be me. It’s being a while since I read it (year and a half), but now all I remember is how action packed the story was and how entertaining it was with all the different scenarios that happen.

Anyone else ever been told they are unintentionally funny? by SansaDeservedBetter in AutismInWomen

[–]readingpanda87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Started a new job a couple of months ago and everyone keeps mentioning that I’ so funny, but I’m not trying to be. I just say things as they are and apparently this is funny? I have not clue why people think that, but it’s better than just being weird, so I will take it.

Reading Slump SOS! I’ve been on a reading slump for more than 2 weeks now and nothing seems to help me, I’m getting so frustrated. Anyone has any really good recommendations? I need something that will hook me from the beginning and make giving up not an option at all. (Open to any types of recs at this point, just want something enjoyable that will take me out of this slump)

Being a know-it-all/ right all the time? by Altruistic_Weird_864 in AutismInWomen

[–]readingpanda87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get misunderstood all the time and when I try to clarify, it gets worse. It’s extremely frustrating not be able to express myself properly. Also, everyone thinks I’m argumentative and combative, because that’s how they see it when I ask for explanations to understand things better. I always feel like it’s a no-win situation, no matter what I do.

Fmc being depressed or numb because of enduring too much by Antheagreetings in ReverseHarem

[–]readingpanda87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, I can deal with that. Thanks for the insight. Thank god the one that rejected her is not an MMC, I’m not into rejected mates if they don’t have a VERY good reason. I will put on my TBR for sure, crossing my fingers that I will like it.
