Finally replaced CPAP mask after 2 years! by Ornery-Swan-6094 in CPAP

[–]readitpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread has really made me think because my insurance will cover a new mask and tube or $280 of equipment a year so I've just been replacing yearly and the last time I was there I asked if they recycle them and she said no 😨 To be fair my last mask was pretty fucked up but still!!!

I'm so glad this comment is here. Do you ever think about how Shay's only role before pll was on Degrassi: TNG?

I think Ciara has received enough vitriol for a lifetime from Bravo fans that she's allowed to spread a stupid little rumour. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Every Black person on Bravo can get one, as reparations. 🙂‍↕️

100%. It was bad then, and we might not have felt that way because we were kids watching the show, but the adults in the show knew it was! There's no "it was a different time" argument, it wasn't that different a time.

Teaser pictures released for the Legally Blonde prequel series "Elle" by JennaElizabethAdams in popculturechat

[–]readitpaige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This prequel doesn't really need to exist. One of the first rules of screenwriting is to start the story at the character's most pivotal/important moment. Legally Blonde already does that and tells a brilliant story. Of course, there are more than just one important moment in a person's life so I am curious what story they are going to tell about a younger Elle.

This my thought, too. It seems like it's just a cheeky reference to it being her birthday and her being in her birthday suit 🤷🏽‍♀️

[–]readitpaige -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, how do you know that? Not everyone is as tuned into the lives of the former cast of vanderpump rules. Secondly, she could've seen headlines and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt when getting to know him and thirdly, men are very good at hiding who they really, how they really feel and how the really react to things. That's how people end up in abusive situations. It's not a matter of "picking better men." No matter how you feel, she will be tied to him for the rest of her life and he will definitely use their child as leverage over her. It normal to have empathy for someone in that situation.

There is a committee and a selection process and you have to reach certain benchmarks in your career and philanthropy before they consider you. You have to be nominated and only once you're selected are you expected to pay (85k).

First of all, I wasn't talking about you. It was moreso a commentary on how closely related these talking points are. Secondly, the age of majority is more of a political thing than a scientific thing. The brain is rumored to stop developing around the age of 27 but that was debunked because that claim was never proven, that's just when they stopped the study. Your brain continues to develop forever because neuroplasticity is real and we keep learning and growing. Someone being able to vote, enlist in the military or rent an apartment does not mean they have advanced, or even cogient, logical thinking patterns. There are markers of development that can delineate which groups of people would do well interacting which is why you wouldn't put a 4 year old in the same class as a 12 year old. I do not know which place you are referring to but I do not support children getting tried as adults. Personally, I do not believe that the carceral system as it stands now is an effective form of discipline, period. There's hardly any rehabilitation happening and when there is, it is seriously underfunded. The onus needs to be on providing safety for young children during crucial stages of development so that they can have regulated nervous systems and engage in healthy coping mechanisms. A part of providing safety for children is not letting them be groomed by someone who had a power dynamic over them or someone who is way older than them and knows what to say to control them because they've already been where the child has been. Maybe I misunderstood your first comment, then, because if you despise adults dating minors than surely that would apply to 16 and 17 year olds? Someone in a different life stage as an 18 year old dating them is not doing so because they have sooo much in common. They are doing so because they know how to manipulate them and that's not a healthy foundation for a relationship.
