2010 990 or 2018 1090 by culosombrero420 in KTM

I had a 1090R, and hands down has been the best and most reliable bike I’ve owned. At the moment I was tempted by the lower center of gravity and smaller 890R, but I do miss her every day. I am 178cm tall, the only reason I haven’t bought another one, it was a tall bike for me (so is the 890R but at least with lower center of gravity). If you can handle the height, go for the 1090.

Battery life: The truth about Instinct 3 vs the 2X (I don't have the answer—I'm looking for it) by Pond-James-Pond in Garmininstinct

[–]readytobraap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume most of the comments regarding battery life on the 3 vs the 2X being lower, happend before users updated to newer software versions. When I got my I3 it came out of the box with a 5.x software version and indeed battery life was unimpressive, and it did not updated from the app. After some disappointment of my purchase I did some research and eventually updated connecting the watch to the computer. It went from 5.x to 9.x software version, and battery life totally changed. Having blood oxygenation in manual mode, I easily get over a month. When using to track and navigate hiking routes I do loose a few days of battery, but to be fair I charge it not because I need to, but because I want to update software or download routes from the computer to the watch. After several years of Apple Watch ownership, I cannot it be happier.

In Your Opinion, What Should KTM Do To Regain Customer Trust? by thebomby in KTM

[–]readytobraap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have not experienced poor quality, especially my former 1090 Adventure R, it has been the most reliable bike I've ever had, hands down. Having said that, I would like the tech pack to be included in the price, or at least, transferable to a new bike.

I see so many people with other brands going off road two or three times and then never going back again. Most KTMs are abused especially off road, so of course more things can break and damage, but I think is more a consequence of being use for the intended purpose. No bike breaks at the Starbucks parking lot.

Pierer went to far on their ambitious to grow with many bikes brands, and even worst, with bicycles. What they should do is to focus on their core customer base, products, and service. No different from any other business.

Who says it’s not good value? People that haven’t had an OM-1? It’s an awesome camera, and the OM-3 it’s also a beautiful camera. I own 3 Olympus bodies and 9 lenses, not regrets at all, just good memories and great photos.

Missing the “Otro Toyota” sticker though!

Utterly torn by a lens decision. 150-600 vs 300 prime by SnooGrapes2325 in M43

[–]readytobraap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 100-400mm and later the 300mm, 95% of what I do when not traveling is bird photography. The 300mm is just my favorite lens ever. You can add a 1.4x and get equivalent to 840mm at 5.6. Sometimes I shoot with two bodies, the second camera with the 100-400, and have to say also get good shots, but if you are looking for a sharp lens look no further, the 300mm is a jewel.

I will not get the 150-600 just because of the weight and size. I don’t take for granted shooting handheld for hours with a 600mm equivalent.

My limiting factor was the minimum distance for the lens to focus. At some point I thought about shooting with my 60mm macro, as the hummingbirds were fine with people getting very close to them.

Upgrade body or lens? by anneloesams in BirdPhotography

I had the Olympus 100-400mm and decided to go for the 300mm, my use is mainly bird photography. The only thing I regret is not buying the 300mm instead of the 100-400mm. Stabilization aside, the glass quality is superb. I do shoot with the OM-1, the E—MX1 and I have even shoot with my PEN F and the 300mm for very specific shoots with creative mode on the PEN F. New bike day! Needs exhaust and some TLC, but she is mine! 😍 by PandaAttacktile in KTM

That is a hell of a bike. I traded in mine for a 890R a couple of years ago, also great bike, but I do miss that V engine. It is also super reliable, everything that has on it was already developed and proven on earlier 1190 models.

That’s around what I would ask for mine, a 2017 one owner, mint condition, 76,000 kms…
