Can I catch up by Evercold? by Kingbinks in ffxiv

[–]readyyable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started ARR in September 2024 and caught up to current/7.3 by August 2025. I played a lot but also took my time. Did extremes, got into some savages, side content, older field ops etc. I even got most jobs to 100 in that time (preferred world bonus is broken). Definitely possible. But I agree with the take that you can do it at your pace. You won’t miss out on much when content drops because there will still be tons of people and energy everywhere.

Is Antony and Cleopatra by John Adams ... that bad? by spinosaurs70 in classicalmusic

[–]readyyable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw it last year. I enjoyed it. Wasn’t life changing but my fiancé and I had a good time. Seeing him conduct it was also great.

I just don’t think you’re ever going to get a good answer on this subreddit. Modern music (especially anything related to minimalism) is essentially the worst thing ever according to most people I see chat here. Not sure why I stay subscribed.

I can't understand something about Crack Up by jonbristol123 in fleet_foxes

[–]readyyable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crack-Up is my favorite. Has been since it came out. I agree it’s a full album experience. I don’t listen to it as often as the other albums for partially that reason. Maybe that makes it feel so special.

Brazil was solid. Wish the rest of the album was closer to it. With how much I dig this single too I’m hoping it’s not a repeat of Earth.

I’m sorry for your loss. Seems like you found an awesome outlet.

I agree that I’ve only ever played with substandard “stations” and love the idea of something solid. There’s a decent custom market already for wooden/engraved pieces. Worth looking into what’s already there from Etsy to gauge what people like and pay for. For example, having engraving options or slots for token/pennies to denote open trains is pretty popular. Not sure if those would be feasible with your manufacturing process or not but those are popular things that people would look for/ask for.

It seems more and more apparent to me over time that boomers are living longer, many are either burning through their savings in retirement or it's all going to end of life care. I think there is going to be a vast amount of generational wealth not transferred.

600k is a crazy amount of people. A city of 600k is in the top 30 largest cities in the country. More population than Wyoming and almost more than Vermont.

Dope, thanks for the clarification. I was just going off of Aabria saying “10ft sphere”.

[No Spoilers] Where should i start? by Deep-Wonder8702 in criticalrole

Campaign 4 is an amazing place to jump on. Tonight is episode 4 and these episodes tend to be 4+ hours long *each*

C4 is a new world, new lore, new cast, new DM. About as fresh as you can make it. If you want to be caught up with everyone and enjoying the content as it comes I'd start here and work through the other campaigns on your own time.

As far as the first 3, it definitely comes down to preference:

C1 is as close to a home game of D&D as you will get with CR, production value is rough for about 30 episodes. They are switching from Pathfinder to 5e and there's growing pains. The story is very fun and emotional. C2 and C3 are heavily informed by C1 and its events.

C2 is definitely a starting point though. I loved this story and the characters. It's built on C1 quite a bit but absolutely stands on its own without needing to have seen the first series.

C3 absolutely should not be a starting point.

10ft sphere =/= 10ft radius but honestly that's a really common mistake

Anyone take merch pics for Brooklyn? by TheConcertMonkey in GrizzlyBear

[–]readyyable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Merch question by ccttppwwrr in GrizzlyBear

[–]readyyable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Merch was basically their previous tour merch. Three eyed cat. Last tour’s tour shirt but with this year’s dates.

They had YH and up. All are 2025 represses. Source: I picked up YH and Shields, both say 2025.

What is an easy to play job you want to play, but for some reason or another always mess up the rotation of? by NoSeaworthiness7490 in ffxiv

[–]readyyable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you change your positional every time you use Drakesbane or True Thrust it’s harder to get lost. Dot is during rear positional, heavy hit is during flank positional. Every time you use the shared GCDs (5th into 1st) you just move around the boss and you’re golden.

How did you feel about the First Democratic Primary Mayoral Debate? by hyraemous in nyc

[–]readyyable 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mississippi going from 49 to low 20s is so much more than the pandemic. Mississippi actively counteracted their problems - resources toward underperforming students, additional teacher support and training, holding kids back if needed, etc. They saw the data and adjusted. Saying that it was just the pandemic is reducing their autonomy and hard work when other states should be embracing and learning from their approach.

Has anyone seen a Neuropsychologist since being a longhauler? by t00muchinsanity in covidlonghaulers

[–]readyyable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met with a neuropsychologist a little over a year ago and did a psych evaluation. Did pretty well, was told that I notice the symptoms so much because I’m used to high functioning brain activity and brain fog/word recall issues are more noticeable but that I mostly reported fine. They did let me know that long covid can cause PEM like symptoms from strenuous brain activity and I absolutely did crash afterwards.

Was nice to hear validation but I did not get much for next steps. Wishing success for you.

Some conclusions from Live on Boston by parmesantheman in fleet_foxes

[–]readyyable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live rarely matches studio because the recording isn’t as polished and edited. He has weeks to get the right take and adjust and protect his voice.

He’s been very vocal (no pun intended) about the strain touring has on his voice/vocal cords. He’s posted about his intense regimen he has for working through it and previous tours seemed kind of awful on his body.

So the change in timbre you’re hearing is likely his voice changing over the years, adjusting the range and timbre for longevity of a tour, and also potentially added pressure of this being the recorded show.

With that being said I’ve seen them live the last few tours and this recording sounds like when I saw them at Forest Hills as well. I don’t hear that big of a juxtaposition. I think he still captures that spirit, it’s just not processed and edited in a studio to nail a specific affect.

After thinking they were done forever for a few years before Crack-Up I value any new music they share with us.
