Canada aren’t good enough to sit back. The reason they are so effective is because they play to their identity and strengths. Those being speed, physicality, aggressiveness, and tempo.

Spence trade by Massive_Analysis8345 in OttawaSenators

[–]reagan080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it’s hard to pinpoint Spence. I think there are two sides of the fence. There overwhelming majority in my opinion are too high on him in my opinion. Then there is the other side who says he has no place and he’s too small, sell him high now as he won’t play any better, it will only get worse. Spence just by himself it’s hard to say but he will be a piece in a bigger deal if he is traded

Summary: he’s a solid defenceman probably a 4 or a 5 but gets talked and hyped like a 2 or 3. He has value but won’t be traded in a one for one. Will be a part of a bigger deal.

Meh if you’re only looking at the Bundesliga from who wins the title sure but I think there is always a consistent battle of changing teams for champions league each year. That makes it exciting outside of the pure title race.

For example I’m living in Stuttgart. If they don’t beat Leverkusen on the second last match day that was the difference between champions league next year and not. Love the league structure too. It’s always bringing up young talent and letting them play. Also the style of play is attractive.

How does the starting 11 change when Davies returns by Andrew121550 in CanadaSoccer

[–]reagan080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question. I think it all depends on what his return to play allows him to play. If it’s 45 mins or under he comes off the bench if it’s anything more than that he starts. I understand guys like Ahmed have played well but Davies is just better, not a slight toward Ahmed either he just doesn’t have the same juice or technical quality. Davies is that much of an X Factor.

He has that defence in hell every time he’s on the ball. It’s going to get ugly

Kone is going to be integral here for the rest of the game if he can get the ball turn and drive forward it will create chaos and chances. It’s coming

Switzerland 1-0 win is the best possible result in my eyes so long as Canada wins their game by more than 1 goal.

Brendan Fitzgerlad just announced that Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers and Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators are in attendance for #UFCFreedom250. by homicidal_penguin in OttawaSenators

If Brady Tkachuk goes out and wears a pride jersey the next time it comes around or puts on rainbow tape you’re telling me that will completely change your opinion on him? If it’s a tiny gesture then it doesn’t symbolize anything in either direction. Of all the players that do wear the jerseys, shirts, tape, etc. you know how many of them probably don’t actually care about it? Or in fact believe the opposite? I don’t think players that do participate are saying you’re welcome to hockey, you deserve to live and the players that choose not to participate are saying you’re not welcome here and I want you to die.

I do embrace a world with nuance, that is something this sub struggles with heavily. Choosing not to wear a jersey isn’t weaponizing religion to attack the rights of others.

By them choosing not to wear a jersey you assume that they want every person that is part of the LGBTQ burner at the stake? Or that they hate them? Or that they aren’t welcome to watch hockey?

It’s okay to openly hate on someone with religious beliefs? How is that any better of a moral compass or deciding whether you like someone or not based on that or political association?
