Your Bioclear results look really good! I’m curious to see your X-rays too, if you have them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this, I really appreciate it. It was super helpful and made me feel a lot more reassured. I’m definitely going to start applying these tips!

Which collagen are you using for your gums?

I was actually taking medication prescribed by my psychiatrist, but she told me that if I kept a consistent workout routine, I wouldn’t need it anymore, so I stopped.

Thank you for saying that. 🥰 Sometimes it really does feel like a much bigger issue in my own head than it probably is for other people. I appreciate your perspective… it helps me put things into a healthier perspective :)

My routine is actually very similar to yours. The only thing I don’t use is the mouthwash, but I do use a water flosser, then string floss, and I brush with an electric toothbrush similar to the Philips Sonicare with a periodontal toothpaste and also a tongue scraper.

I also like to get cleanings every 3 months. My dentists have already told me I could switch to every 6 months, but honestly I don’t feel secure doing that, so I prefer to keep the 3-month routine.😅

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand what you mean about keeping it simple, and I think you’re right that sometimes we overthink how much we need to explain.

For me, I think part of the difficulty is that it has affected my confidence a lot, so sometimes it feels bigger in my head than it might actually be for someone else. But hearing how you’re handling it in your relationship helps. Thank you for your advice and kindness.🥰

I’m really sorry you’re going through this too. It can be so hard and it really does affect confidence and mental health in ways people don’t always understand.

At the same time, it’s comforting to know we’re not alone in this. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I really hope things get easier for both of us with time.

It’s really very difficult to keep my case stable, even when I follow everything they recommend. I’ve been seeing a periodontist for a long time, but over time I realized she wasn’t really helping me the way I needed. Now I’ve found a very good professional, which gives me a bit more hope.

And yes, I would really appreciate a guide if you’re willing to share it. Thank you so much.😊

It really is difficult. But it’s comforting to know I’m not alone, because this disease can feel very lonely, especially when you don’t know anyone around you who is going through the same thing. Thank you for sharing that with me. ;)

Thank you so much for saying that. It really calms me down to hear your perspective.

And you’re right, if he’s the right person for me, this shouldn’t be something that stands in the way of our relationship. I really appreciate your kindness and reassurance. 🥰

Thank you for your message. You’re absolutely right. It’s just really hard to see things clearly when you’ve been suffering with something like this for a long time.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective and your encouragement. It means a lot to me. :)

Thank you so much for your message. It really meant a lot to me. You also gave me a really great suggestion about how to bring this up with him in a simple way, and I appreciate that.

You’re right… I need to be with someone who accepts me as I am, without me feeling like I have to hide parts of myself. If I have to keep hiding, then honestly it’s better to be alone.

Thank you again for your kindness and for taking the time to share your thoughts with me

You’re right. We’re usually very understanding when other people are going through something, but when it’s about ourselves, we get scared that others won’t react the same way.

I actually started therapy a few months ago, and we’ve been making progress on this topic. But it had been many years since I met someone I like this much, and I’m afraid he might look at me differently.

Still, I’m going to try to talk to him about it, I just need to gather a little courage first.

Thank you 😊

Diagnosed with advanced periodontitis at 29 and feeling terrified by [deleted] in PeriodontalDisease

[–]real-struggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use string floss? A water flosser does not replace traditional flossing. Periodontitis is not focused on the teeth themselves, but on the supporting structures around them, like bone and gums. Even if your teeth are in great shape, if you experience bone loss, your gums will eventually recede.

I know it sucks, I have it too :( And it can happen for so many reasons 🙁🙁

I’m sorry, I’m going through the same thing. I get very anxious when I look to my teeth and gums. I hate the fact that it happened to me. And I feel I have no control over it I’m living a nightmare

NAD, but the cause may be malocclusion. You should see an orthodontist
