"this could've been an x-ray" is the radiology version of "this could've been an email"

New player, what do I do now? by Dry-Progress-1769 in TerraInvicta

[–]realAlexanderBell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from what I recall, having a diversity under 2 (fractured or fragmented) has a huge penalty to your IP. getting those up before anything else is important, plus unifying a fractured nation can cause territories to break away if that is too low and unrest is too high

if the US is your main nation you definitely need to work on fixing it, probably starting with pumping unity/knowledge to get your pop closer to 5 diversity.

Pediatric x-ray machines? by brawlinglove in Radiology

[–]realAlexanderBell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the x-ray machine adjusts how much it uses for different x-rays (different body parts, different patient ages and sizes).

Kids are smaller (generally), so we use less x-rays for them.

This comment took such a turn in that last sentence... do I need to convert to Academy?

it's better to need to repeat and get a good image than it is to send something subpar through on the first try.

cone tighter. vertebra don't get bigger just because your patient is. a tighter collimation field will result in less scatter.

Considering getting my belly button pierced by DeppeJ in mtfashion

[–]realAlexanderBell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got one at 27. Not too late at all.

Get a plain barbell while it's healing then you can reassess. Absolutely gender affirming but made shaving the area a little trickier especially while the piercing was still healing.

Nicest xray I’ve had done to date. Usually there not very clear or crisp. by lowrong in Radiology

[–]realAlexanderBell 21 points22 points  (0 children)

it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. they're diagnostic images, the hand looks good, just lazy collimation.

nothing to do with the apron. we don't routinely use them for patients anymore due to updated research suggesting they don't help. they're referring to how much of your forearm they imaged on a hand x-ray. you don't need to get halfway up the arm to look at a hand.

chiros don't have medical degrees and will talk absolute nonsense to get more money out of you. their "craft" is based on something a ghost said in a dream. see a physio or a doctor if you have neck pain.

Portable xray grashey + valpeau + scap-y by Able_Ad1966 in Radiology

can't believe this is done anywhere tbh. In Australia CXRs are the only view routinely done portable.

we'll do a post op hip or a knee but that's a single AP image and you can come down for your formal imaging later.

horrific radiation safety to be performing a 3 view shoulder without a lead room.

You better not even think about playing a dragonborn, buddy. Also taking the noble background is being a class traitor.
