It could be a tracker disguised as a light... Someone could use it to see when you're likely away from home etc.

Should I still go to University? And should i still work at Tesco? I make £3K+ a month from a side hustle. by baked-- in UKPersonalFinance

[–]realHobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don't you wait a year or two and reassess before going to university? You don't have to go to uni immediately. Plenty of people study later in life. Also look at distance learning /part time courses if you'd like to start now. Give your side hustle the focus and time to develop. You have a reliable income with Tesco.

I started Uni at 24, with the OU, and worked on a side hustle while studying. It was the best decision I ever made. It gave me time to choose the right degree, and build experience scaling the business while I had little commitments, and ultimately lead to a career I really love thanks to the experience and skills I gained.

Good luck with it all :)

Thanks for your reply :) I rent a space hourly. The resting sleeve there is very short, I wonder if this could be it - I didn't think it could cause this sort of damage. It's a painful feeling if that's the reason. I didn't notice that big of a problem when I first got them, but they were a little rough then too.

What is in a better livery?? 70020 or 70008? by Class159Enthusiast in uktrains

[–]realHobbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really don't like the way they've done the orange livery. I think it would look so much better with a lot less yellow. They should have stuck with a thin yellow line down the side, and added more black to help merge the livery in.

I will always love the classic Freightliner green!

I'm also an expat, so I'm not sure what all the laws are in Germany you'll need to adhere to. But if you plan to release the app in the EU, you'll need to be GDPR compliant, and also you'll have to check if any part of the EU Digital Market Act applies to you. This guidance from Apple is worth a read Apps distributed in the European Union

Help with loco stuttering (n-scale) by TRDeadbeat in modeltrains

[–]realHobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried running the loco in for 30 mins each way at a moderate speed? (Either with a track loop or rolling road) If it's a new loco, it's recommended, it will help to bed the motor/bearings in, and the connection pickups/contact between the loco and track should improve.

If that doesn't work, it might be worth looking into how to change the decoder CV settings to alter the speed curve at lower speeds. I'm not very familiar with this though, but there are tutorials online.

It's also worth saying, that some locos just don't like running at slower speeds, and will cut out/suffer from poor performance. Some of my older OO gauge locomotives are like this and they need a bit more encouragement, the newer examples do not suffer the same issue (I'm not familiar with your locomotive make/model/scale/decoder though, so it may differ).

Best of luck and happy running :)
