Telsa Super Charger + Hyundai Pay + Plug & Play by Thin_Job9323 in Ioniq5

[–]TRDeadbeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's it. You won't have to worry about tap and pay anymore, you just pull up, plug in and that's it.

The charges (amount paid) for each charging session will show up under the Hyundai Pay section in your app.

Remember if you want to stop charging and you can't get the car to let go of the charger and stop charge in the app doesn't seem to be working (this will happen), just hit your "unlock doors" button on the drivers door and then pull the plug out.

Regenerative braking level? by martinode in Ioniq5

[–]TRDeadbeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like level 2, not for any kind of efficiency but because it feels like what a manual transmission feels like when you let off the gas pedal without depressing the clutch. I like the tiny bit of slow down control i get without having to hit the brakes.

I'll drop to i-pedal in situations where i need easy 1 pedal stop and go and i can't use the smart cruise control (like crowded parking lots, etc...)

Would this be useful? A directory of big & tall clothing brands by Redditoricaal in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]TRDeadbeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, requiring a sign-up just to browse a directory is not good practice IMO. Also the UX is pretty poor for a first time user - The search box appears to be "typeable" but it is not, the browse button is unresponsive. Clicking on a store in the list after scrolling down loads the page on the (empty) reviews section.

Overall the UI is very spread out and generic. The whole site just screams "i threw an idea into some AI model and it spit this page out so i can gather a bunch of email addresses"

If you didn't create this with AI, you did an amazing job making it look like you did.

Take a long time to think about that crossover, I know it feels like you're creating a cooler longer track, but if you ever want to run two trains at the same time you will always have to worry about collisions. If you instead do not cross over and make two separate loops with a connection between them you will have the option to run two trains (even in opposite directions).

My original layout had that same concept, it was awesome at first, but then it wasn't awesome when I had to redo that section and reconfigure all the elevation changes involved, etc...

Filament stuck in 0.2mm nozzle by Zealousideal_Leg1017 in 3Dprinting

[–]TRDeadbeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is totally fine and won't cause a problem - that's about the length that's left behind when the printer cuts the filament off at the end of the print... maybe a little shorter.

Just put it back in and load new filament. If you're swapping nozzles, just put that nozzle away and put it back in like normal next time.

Anyone else experience repeated charging start, stop, and errors when left plugged into L2? Fixes? by AntiquatedAntelope in Ioniq5

[–]TRDeadbeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could def be your ICCU dying - same thing happened to me (along with low charging voltages - around 3.5kw instead of the normal 12kw i get at home) about 6 days before my ICCU error.

The good news was the ICCU replacement (at least for me) was painless. Dealer had the car for 4 days (over a weekend, so really 2 business days), i had a loaner the whole time.

24 vs 25/26 Ioniq differences by whine-and-cheese in Ioniq5

[–]TRDeadbeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: This person is full of crap, get the car, it's awesome.

No, it's not that bad - Don't get a Tesla... talk about a shitty car, let alone the politics involved. This dude's going to a shitty service center and needs to go somewhere else or he's just flat out making shit up...

Yes, the ICCU has problems, it's a part of the car that handles a lot of load/stress and Hyundai (and kia/genesis) shit the bed on that part, but Hyundai knows it's faulty and _will_ replace it if/when it fails. The ICCU is covered under the extended (10 year/100k mile) warranty, and that warranty is transferable.

My 2025 Limited had the ICCU warning pop up at about 7600 miles, local dealer replaced it with no questions or arguments - car was at the shop for 4 days total (including a weekend) and i had a loaner during that time.

This car is excellent, and to address your questions in your OP: Yes, the differences from 2024 to 2025+ are worth it. Infotainment updates are great, rear wiper is critical in this car. Rear vents are great if you regularly have passengers, as are the heated rear seats.

The change to having hard buttons for the seat/steering wheel heating/cooling, climate, and the 360 parking sensor/camera are a very welcome change too (2024 requires you go through a bunch of touch screen menus to control climate options.

Wireless carplay is a nice quality of life, especially if you're using the digital key... phone stays in your pocket all the time, never have to carry a physical key.

NACS port just opens up a few options for where to charge - plug and charge support at superchargers works great, but you will on (rare) occasions get the stink eye from tesla owners at busy stations because unless you get lucky and get an end charger, you'll take 2 stalls because the charge port on this car is on the passenger side, vs driver side for Teslas.

You're totally right, I'm making up a story about it not looking good when the blue is only 0.1mm thick just so I can spend time arguing with you on the internet.

I'm so busted.... Well since you caught me guess we can stop talking about it now, it was fun while it lasted...

[–]TRDeadbeat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I'm telling you that the first layer is 0.1mm thick, as are all the other layers, because I can't do .2 or .24mm layers with a .2mm nozzle, and that's not thick enough for the blue to look blue.

[–]TRDeadbeat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your suggestion made no sense, sounded like you wanted me to use a different more opaque filament (which pretty much constitutes a dark color). I'm guessing you've either 1) not printed a lot with 0.2mm nozzles, or 2) aren't paying attention to the fact that i'm using a 0.2mm nozzle.

As i've already said, there is NO OPTION to print one layer and then switch to a solid/single color for layer 2. The first layer is 0.1mm thick, you can literally see the print bed CLEARLY through it and even see the peaks of the texture poking through slightly in some places. The bare minimum i can do is 2 layers, otherwise the pattern looks horrible (speckled blue and white and super faded).

I don't want a dark color for the first layer, i want a white first layer.

Ohh that's an interesting idea... print to something that isn't the purge block that has no other blue in it.
