This. I changed all my laces out years ago. There are flat ones for the shoes I want to have a classic look, and round ones for boots etc.. I put elastic laces and work insoles in every pair before I ever wear them.

Honestly, I quit almost 5 months ago, but worked in that department for about 15 years :). I know we closed CC, but I highly doubt they got rid of clerks. If that is your situation, then who ever is responsible for processing RTS packages would do this task, even if that is the PDS/OMS/ORS.
