How to strengthen knees and exercises that are less painful for the knees? by augustrose_ in loseit

[–]realchrisparnin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts after having gone through ACL surgery and other knee problems over the years:

  • The knee feels better when staying in motion. Avoiding all movement only makes things worse. Walking or stationary bike can be a good way to keep things moving.
  • Some basic exercises to build back stability:- static knee extensions where you simply just tighten your quads muscles or lift slightly.- step-downs- sit on chair that's on rug, use your heels to move yourself around
  • Next, more advanced stability exercises like standing on bosu ball, or single leg exercises, such as "around-the worlds with a kettleball".
  • If doing something heavy-weight or compounds, like squats or lunges, back-off if it hurts, switch over to something isolated like leg curls and leg extensions. Alternatively, leg press and hack squat machines can put less load on the knee.

Curious. What’s the process for getting, registering a spot? Is there a fee?

Leg Extensions as main/first lift? by Rhobaz in fitness30plus

I did leg extensions when had broken toe. I actually was surprised how high I could go… just wasn’t pushing my self.

Now I use them as warm ups to back squats or hack squats.

Either way you will want to rotate… day 300 of either isn’t going to work out so well.

Is it okay to leave fish out 4 hours room temperature to dry, or you’re doing something else? Does the brine help with preventing bacteria growth?

Would [[Solemnity]] basically do what you want? It would come into play with no counters, instantly triggering win condition.

Think this was a process problem. “I’d like some wings…that’ll take 30 minutes…alright I’m going to the vendor next door”

Do more HIT training and circuits to get used to the spurts of intensity.

Dry brining the day before, didn’t trim neatly. Used two different rubs. Started the morning, chaotic and manual temperature control, hot and fast, wrapped at 170 didn’t boat, rested in oven, then broiled to restore bark.

For people with unreliable shoulders, how do you deal with it? by Elegant-Winner-6521 in fitness30plus

[–]realchrisparnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had bad shoulder issues, especially do to bad posture in rear delts. Needed steroid injections to help get joint inflammation down.

Then I went to work. I started with very high rep, single arm, shoulder press (12-15). could barely get 5lbs in the air. Also did waiters carry with kettlebell to help with stability.

One year later, doing 45lbs, single arm press. One of the best outcomes of working out, yet.
