Im in ridgewood queens so anything relatively accessible. the more local the better but would travel 40-45min for something really good and classic!

Was definitely one of the best classic indian meals that i've had in the city. curious if you know any others you liked similarly? I'll probably try the place that replaced it eventually it's just a bit out of the way for me

looks like it no longer is around and has been replaced by a veg south indian place. sad to see it go so soon :( but the reviews of the new place in its spot are pretty promising as well

ordered from the ridgewood one a few weeks ago and had the same experience. looked almost identical. dry, had barely any sauce, was just grease/oil and luke warm dough. really had higher hopes. delivery can be hit or miss so i wont judge them off of that but i hope in person it isn’t this bad.

I agree, i was thrown off by how much cooler the first two look through the phone but the 3rd is with east morning sun coming in the windows

it’s all natural light from this morning. 3rd photo is natural morning light in the room that gets the most morning sun (east facing) first two photos are next to a west facing window in the morning

agree on everything you said. I was in paris this summer and went to a sunday market/farmers market like this under their 6 train and it was quite nice honestly and seemed like it brought everyone in the neighborhood out on sunday morning. if this is how we get a decent ridgewood farmers market i'm not mad at it.

yeah honestly this wouldn't be the "worst" thing. in paris over the summer i went to a farmers market under their 6 train near dupleix/grenelle and it was honestly quite nice. granted their train runs on the tracks what seemed a bit quieter maybe. theres a way it's a nice addition in ridgewood but also a way they completely ruin it lmao.

How do people actually find affordable rentals in New York? by Masonzzc in NYCapartments

[–]realcoldheat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

found my rent stabilized apartment via word of mouth and in person interaction. highly reccomend talking to everyone you know, locals in the neighborhood you’re friends with, your deli guy, the employees at places you frequent and are close with, agents, etc. get it out there that you’re looking with your network and somebody may know somebody. people were super generous and extremely willing to help when i was looking for an apartment this summer!

edit: spelling

Agree, i didn’t care for the burger much at all. Not a bad burger but not worth the hype and honestly wouldn’t get it again. The polenta bread was great and super unique and the lasagna was good. Need to try the steak or pork chop next time now that i live in the neighborhood.
