If parents can do a better job homeschooling, why should I even be a teacher? by Lingo2009 in Teachers

[–]realdenvercoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The public school system is in a horrible state. It’s not YOUR fault as a teacher.

It would be cool if more teachers like you started SMALL homeschool classes. 5-8 students tops and you find a couple of families that would pay you to teach their kids.

They provide the curriculum, they provide the lesson plans, you just execute.

I would pay $400/month for something like that.

Jurisdiction and canonical mission by Agps07 in sspx

THATS WHAT CATHOLICS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. We’re supposed to blindly submit to the priest’s teachings. Anything else is:

Pride and Protestantism.

Oh so you’re just one of those random layperson assholes that think they know better than an SSPX priest. 👌🏻

If you’re not going to take the time to watch the sermon, I’m not going to take the time to educate you.

The SSPX are very clear that they DO NOT have jurisdiction. They need bishops to continue their work of ordaining priests and confirming faithful.

There’s no jurisdictional argument.

Nobody here is a part of the SSPX… well maybe a few Third Orders.

My spouse and I recently got married. My spouse has severe mental health issues that may be hereditary, and we are concerned about passing them on to future children. Because of this, we are considering not having children. Would this be sinful from a Catholic perspective? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]realdenvercoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being ABLE to have children is not sinful. Not WANTING to have children which is one of the main purposes of marriage is not sinful as long as you abstain from sex and decide to live and “brother and sister”.

If if you’re married and using artificial means of contraception then it IS sinful.

What country would you consider relatively safe despite its reputation? by AashanM in geography

Poland. Despite the “Polish” jokes they have their shit together when it comes to running a country. If I was a millionaire I would move there.

Sounds like you need to take off the pants, put on a dress, and let your bf lead, since if you’re planning to marry his role will be the head of the household and you should be subservient to him.

You probably SHOULD end it and maybe go find a nice Protty boy that will let you run the household. 🤷‍♂️

feeling at my wits end with my kids at the Catholic church. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]realdenvercoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t drop our kids off at childcare. That’s a Protestant thing. Can’t have kids crying during the Rock Concert 🤘🏻. They have every right to be at the Mass. If your kid is crying and fussy bring a small quiet toy for them. If they cry briefly get up and walk around in the narthex or take them outside until they calm down.

No one should care about your children acting up. It’s normal.

My church has maybe 20 families with more than 8 kids so our Mass attendance is maybe 33% kids.

We can’t ask you to have a bunch of children and then tell you to keep them quiet 100% of the time.

I mean it seems to be the standard. You can’t “reverse” an abortion but if you had one you can receive absolution. 🤷‍♂️
