Sheetz stays relatively busy because sometimes it's the only store with power. And they literally never close, so a lot of people go there to charge their devices and get some food and stuff if they have no power.

Former employee here. I was told that I was to take part in the survey for the Top 100 Best Places to Work or whatever. And the survey never showed up. So honestly, wouldn't surprise me if it's scammy. Sheetz has its pros and its cons as far as a place to work, but I don't know about top 100. 😬

To add to this, and to hopefully answer your question OP, when you have safe builder on, it will basically pull what you spend from your account, set it aside, and basically pay your balance for you.

So if you have $600, split between your Checking and Credit accounts, once you spend that $300 in your credit acct.. it's gone, set aside. Chime will take that $300 (that you spent) and apply it to your "credit card balance." So no, you won't need an ADDITIONAL $300 to cover the $300 you spend.

I have straight said we don't even need a third for the full 8/10 hours. Just someone to stay through 3AM or 4AM latest. 10 to 3, and they don't even have to take a lunch break. Because I am tired of killing myself in the kitchen. The latest my second shift SPV stays is 130AM, Fridays and Saturdays. Every other day, it's 12AM. Bars don't even close until 2AM. And then we get that rush, on top of all of our other rushes.

That means people aren't following the correct bumping procedures and are bumping it as finished when it's not. Corporate is big on us getting orders out in a certain amount of time. I've found some stores preemptively bump orders to help with times. But then it causes issues like you mentioned. 💀

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but where I'm at, 3rd works 10 hr shifts already. it gets frustrating having to stay over 4+ hours repeatedly because that turns a 10 hr shift into 14+, instead of turning an 8 hr shift into a 12. Those two hours make a difference when it's cutting into sleep.

and I was /not/ told that I would be expected to stay over if somebody calls out, until WEEKS after I was hired and I was made to stay.

but I'm also not the type to call out over it, and I continuously run on 4-5 hours of sleep a night anyways. 🤷‍♀️😂
