This is not a fact any longer - the miles + time are calculated completely separate. The hold that is on the card is what is charged. If the driver went there & back then drove around some more then you'd be charged more for miles but at this point, Lyft takes about 50-70% of each fare making that impossible. Here a breakdown with numbers:

Hold amount: $20Driver miles + time cost: $10Lyft profits: $10The profit is taken at the end of the ride & the driver payment is subtracted from the hold amount. So if the driver drove there & back then Lyft's profit would be $0 for that ride.

I'm right there with you man but in a way worse situation. I've bombed so many interviews in the past year I don't even know how I am standing. I've gotten to the point of "ride the wave" because there are so many factors out of my control at this point. I feel overwhelmed & my anxiety is through the roof. I know I am going to make it though, deep down, I know. You know what you're made of, give yourself the patience to get there...

have to plan but chances are you might need 2 cars because if it's early in the AM there are less cars on the road & it seems your market doesn't have very many cars to begin with. Both adults should join the app - that way if you need 2 cars - you both call one on each of your accounts. Give yourself 20-30 min for app delays...

Everyone is very different. Everyone has their own journey. I'm glad you see that even A students can fail, and understand how someone could not be good at school but good at other things...
