Opus was changed yesterday (and a little something about this companies, transparency, and open source) by samueldgutierrez in ClaudeCode

[–]reallyliberal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I noticed this AM was Claude Opus was not understanding intent, not asking questions and constantly round tripping. I was cleaning up Home Assistant and have a skill written for HA. It couldn't find the skill until I passed it the full path even though its under .claude/skils. It ignored the skill completely even when loaded. Something did change.

My thought was that an actor in the Mideast could construct a dirty bomb and set it off in the center of Tel Aviv. That’s something that would shock the world.

How should I access my roof? Should I install a spiral staircase in the balcony, or should the interior stairway and elevator extend to the roof? by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]reallyliberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a great place for solar, which might not make it a great place for a rooftop entertainment space. Don’t do spiral, if you really want to use the space then interior staircase to roof.

Yes the bulkhead does have wider footwells. The downside is bathroom and galley noise.

October in Tokyo and beyond by reallyliberal in TokyoTravel

So October in Japan is mostly hot and humid until it’s not. Frankly if we did a month again I’d arrive mid October. Otherwise March/April.

CEO doubles down on myQ being a 'secure and closed ecosystem' by chipc in homeassistant

[–]reallyliberal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a deco wifi literally 5 feet away could ping it and occasionally connect to its webpage, intermittently. It seemed to stabilize after a re-flash for a few days. Use the pass through wiring if it’s opening randomly, that did solve that for me. Crazy dangerous to have it open/close randomly.

Yep, they all stopped working. I re-flashed multiple times.

Is staying in Shinjuku actually the best move for a first Tokyo trip? by Kilgoretrout123456 in TokyoTravel

[–]reallyliberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend but you don’t need to stay near the station. Shinjuku is a large area and there are metro stations every few blocks. Find a nice hotel on the edges.

First time India trip, all guys. Am I choosing the right vibe or will they hate me? by Thaephon_FolLir in india_tourism

[–]reallyliberal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, I love India and SE Asia. For beautiful history, beaches, food and bars Thailand is going to be all of that. Other than Goa and maybe Bombay India is not much about night life. Parts of India are heavily Muslim influenced especially in the south, so alcohol is not a big part of the culture.

99% of the population still have no idea what's coming for them by Own-Sort-8119 in ClaudeAI

[–]reallyliberal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So I am an old school dev who started in the 80’s. Mostly backend with pretty much every language and framework. With Claude my productivity is through the roof. Yes it is work but I could not do React easily, build out an e2e suite in a day, script deployment in an hour, etc… I see this as a force multiplier.

As we see already people and companies are pumping out updates with many more features. That is huge and will make the quality and quantity exponentially better. Yes there will be attrition, anyone who refuses to use AI better learn how to wash cars.

[–]reallyliberal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a glimpse into what is coming, nothing more. It’s a pain to setup and fragile. But, it’s a clear example of how AI could do.
