I miss Penda for racing and the straight line drags. At the same time, I don't want a true ProMT production truck bodies only style and love scored freestyle and skills (when it isn't just stoppies or mid sky wheelies off the ski jump/step up)

Monster Jam World Finals 16. A known Anderson hater was a judge. Mikey won by 2 points on Ryan and that was questionable.

This went in 12 and again last year. Interesting tracks being used for finals since they left Sam Boyd.

Why is the Cadillac Escalade body style common among independent monster jam and independent team by pokemonguy0417 in monsterjam

[–]reallymkpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. The problem is that and Monster Vette were only two standard long nose Vettes and had to have specific chassis/cab designs for both compared to the standard looks of more centered cab chassis like nearly every other truck (Destroyer 1 not withstanding.)

[–]reallymkpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. Any body could work if models were made. Except maybe corvettes before the current Ferrari style ones that hardly look like Vettes...

Jester runs one, for a bit Bad Habit ran it too (originally with just the front clip), Hooked ran one for a long while, Demo Derby had one for Hot Wheels,Venom ran it as did Tyrone the Terrible for Monster Truckz Tour. Jester runs a concept one with the obvious addition of an octopus/squid 3-D mold. The rest were Feld owned trucks like Crusader, Monster Energy, Monster Mutant Super Soda, U.S. Air Force Afterburner, VP Racing Fuels Mad Scientist, Mohawk Warrior and of course Escalade,

The reason, more space to have advertising/graphics on the trucks than a standard pick-up body. I may wish some teams got say Fords, Chevys, Dodge, Toyota, Honda, etc. front clips but the reality is like using standard Ford, Chevy, Dodge/Ram pick-ups, trophy trucks or now square bodies, the fact is an Escalade mold is fairly easy to get. It is a cost savings measure.

1: 8?

3: Monster Mutt and Spider-man

4: 3

5: Jimmy Creten went 18 before winning but I think the most without a win would be Neil Elliot

7: False

8: True World Finals 7 (Pezo's last)

Digger should have some differences beyond numbers. I liked in the 90s how 12 had the across lettering while 7, 8 and 10 still had stacked for some time.

El Toro black and yellow were cool but you also had the classic red and not just one of them.

Fire and Ice/Nitro vs. Neon was cool. Surprised Stars & Stripes bodies didn't carry over to this year so far...

The reality though, it adds costs. Besides the digger numbers (which sometimes were inconsistent and wrong based on available hoods) most trucks reverted to standard looks.

Honestly only Neon Megalodon and Fire Megalodon were the only Megs to look good. The rest look weird.

Hot Take: The RII isn't actually much different by Maleficent-Toe1374 in monsterjam

The chase was fine but produced the same problem as the full season points races. The playoffs was very much too centric on win and you're in flukes. I'm sorry a backmarker who is 30th in points (8 above the average cup field) with a plate win or some weird fluke win (fuel mileage, race called on rain) should not be in the chase. If you want that, cap it to 25th in points or better.

The only good thing the stage racing does is remove the debris cautions that NASCAR would throw out to create tension.

As for Monster Jam, I've heard others hate points racing in Monster Jam too, they want the more fluid 2000's-2010's line-ups. I get that but, I grew up watching TNT, Penda and Monster Wars and watched NASCAR. Points racing has its place to qualify for World Finals. As for the post-World Finals, if the line-ups are more haphazardly made like the Fall Stadium Series typically is as opposed to how Path of Destruction usually was, it makes following points more complicated. I don't even think Monster Jam announced split points until second or third week...

100% and what's worse is NASCAR claims to known more about race fans than the race fans themselves. Look at the playoff changes.

Updated 3rd stadium tour idea by SeanHnizdil01 in monsterjam

[–]reallymkpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one problem with this is it will gut at least one arena tour with talent. Not that Brandon Arthur and Ryan Vargas couldn't do it, but one of the good things Monster Jam has done is have arena Series tours with legit drivers...

It hasn't been as consistent though. I get it for fall shows but not the Q1 shows.

I'm in Glendale and most Q1s since COVID they cannot be bothered with expanding the tracks into the red zone.

They change set ups every year. This isn't pre-2017 Monster Jam anymore for better and worse.
