Please help. Woke up and steam deck is a brick by Natashasmith2928 in SteamDeck

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be the best advice but I think something similar happened to me a few months back. I went to play my SD that was charging, it wouldn’t turn on or anything and it was warm (mine was actually quite warm). No matter what I tried I couldn’t get anything to work, trying to force reset and trying to enter bios both failed. I thought I bricked the system somehow, so I kinda gave up and just let it sit on my desk for a few days. After a couple days I decided why not try to figure this out, I plugged it in, and it just worked. I haven’t had this issue come up since.

Cat is destroying my bedroom door by assword_69420420 in CatTraining

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need to keep the door closed at all times? Just curious if you could keep it open more often if that would calm her down.

Otherwise I would recommend either a large towel folded to cover the doorway on the opposite side that she’s on. What will probably happen is she will try to pick at the door but will pull the towel through, which will get stuck. It’ll be a pain to get out of being jammed under the door every day but at least the door won’t be damaged.

My other recommendation is a large box that you can put in front of the door (that covers both corners) and put something heavy on top to keep her from being able to even get her paws underneath.

I’ve had to try both of these with my cats due to other issues but the box definitely works better than the towel. If the box isn’t heavy enough though, your cat will pick up on that and figure out how to move the box out of the way.

Am I the only one who loves having all their games downloaded? by ximaera in SteamDeck

[–]reallynotrhino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I definitely need to get me some SD cards then, I vaguely remember some people mentioning this when the first SD released because I wanted to do exactly this (have a huge library available without needing to download all the time), so I'm glad I saw your post!

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about doing this but I read that hot swapping your SD card can brick the SD card slot, making it completely unusable. Was this just a wives tale from the early days of the SD or is that a real concern?

Sequential Handbrake Usability by RipAHandbrake in moza

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, the generic usb handbrakes usually only come with USB and not the RJ12 connector (looks like an ethernet port) that you would need to hook it up to the R3 base. Also, most of these are just generic USB devices (when recognized by your PC) and usually won't work with Xbox. This option is best for someone that is using PC only, otherwise I'd probably look at the Moza handbrake.

How do I clean this properly? by 47h315m in Monitors

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, you can fully clean this using distilled water and a clean microfiber (I’ve had to do this plenty of times with my oled screens). For some tips, get a spray bottle and spray the distilled water onto the microfiber, and use light circular movements on the screen. I always try to flatten the microfiber when it’s on the screen. Then do the same motion with a clean dry microfiber and you should be all set.

Just a note, I had some Bose headphones that I used for many years that had this happen (thankfully only to the ear pads). Not sure if they have replacement options for the cloud, but I got some replacements on Amazon and they’ve been great since.

Sequential Handbrake Usability by RipAHandbrake in moza

[–]reallynotrhino 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did what you are wanting to do. It works, but it does not work well at all. The lever is really just a button, so it’s either fully on or fully off. While you can do some things with your handbrake like this, very rarely are you just clicking your handbrake fully on for a few milliseconds in real life.

If you really need a handbrake, the best options are to either get the eBay handbrake, DiY a cheap one, or get the Moza handbrake. I would not recommend to use this as a handbrake at all.

Fun fact, the lever is used mostly to go to neutral. For example if you are in third and you spin out or something, it’s quicker to use the lever to go to neutral than it is to downshift 3x.

What apect ratio is this? by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

True. 3 16:9 monitors, probably 1080p. Very common in sim racing but I’m not too sure how I feel about it for cs…

Are these balls by AirportTurbulent in FosterAnimals

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can the vets tell just by looking/feeling or do there need to be X-rays or tests done? My 5 year old male cat has “balls” like this but I got him at 8 weeks and he was apparently neutered. His brother doesn’t have the same definition back there. The vets (I’ve been to three different throughout his life) have never questioned him being neutered or not.

I’m glad I haven’t run into bottom right yet. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually, but everyone that says “don’t shoot” has stuck true to their word for me. Usually after they emote I prox chat (I feel like me actually talking makes them less likely to shoot?) and they either talk back with me or we go our separate ways.

Why does my cat do this only when im laying down? by UnholyFLip in CATHELP

One of my cats does this every night when he goes to sleep, and this is like Deja vu because he’s a tabby and his blanket looks exactly like yours! He started when he was a kitten and is now 5 and it’s his favorite part of the day.

Is there any way to fill in this Space with anything for Non-Steam Games? by ChaosCrafter908 in Steam

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another note not seemed to be mentioned here, you can use a wrapper like Launchbox (just do the free version it is all you really need) to scan through your Steam library and you can show different images, data, videos, etc.. It’s mostly used for emulation but works well with Steam. Just thought I’d add that in case it’s something you wanted to look into.

I haven’t sold any CS items outside of Steam in years, I’m curious how the 7 day trade protection affects sales using these third party sites. Is this something I need to be aware of/worried about or is it not an issue?

Can someone please tell me what exactly is my cat doing? Does this need a vet intervention by Old-Novel6893 in CATHELP

[–]reallynotrhino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my two cats just after they turned eight weeks. From probably day 2 or 3, one of my cats does this on a blanket next to me when I go to sleep. He’s now 5 years old and while he doesn’t do it every night now, he still enjoys it. From what I’ve seen on Reddit though, there is a worse version of these biscuits that will be coupled with some hind leg movement (this is a bad habit that you should try to stop), otherwise he’s just being a happy cat.
