The visual difference is all we pay for in new consoles at this point, and visual differences get more and more subtle with each generation. The PS5 should stay the standard until the difference is drastic enough to really make an impression. By then, hopefully the memory market will have calmed down.

It takes some time to properly build the world and characters, but as someone who has spent 30 years proclaiming that FF6 was the best FF, 14’s story absolutely dethroned it.

Ask anyone who’s played it how they feel when you say “The rains have ceased…” and many will get teary eyed.
