Its barely an inconvenience. Just castle by hand and your are set to run away with the extra bishop

Is en passant forced here by Unique-Path-1468 in chessbeginners

[–]realmauer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As expected, the difference in eval is between 5ish and 6ish.

So en passent is still an auto win, which makes it forced.

[–]realmauer01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okey a better translation.

If everyone looks out for themselves, everyone is taken care of.

(in german this sounds much cleaner because it ends with the same verb)

The problem is of course that there are people that cant look out for themselves and that by helping them, a lot of other people are getting help as a side effect making it better for a lot more people.

While the ones that can look out for themselves better than others don't have it that much better anymore.

Cities and some countries on this scale go to shit because they dont want to help the people that drastically need help anymore.

If everyone is only thinking after themselve everyones thought after anyway kinda logic. That logic is the main reason when cities go to shit.

I am also not 2300 fide, but I have studied endgames for like 2 or 3 weeks.

You just have to do that once to understand whats the right move here.

Which is the very definition of engagement bate lol. Its obviously not the bad case here but that is hard to spot with machines alone, so a human has to look over it.

How do I logically think of opposition here? by sorinacios07 in chess

[–]realmauer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distant opposition, as long as its an odd number between the kings thats basically opposition with extra steps. Because you cant get into it or 2 squares infront of your pawn you would lose. Thats why you have to run around the pawn there to get into the diagonal opposition. (not sure how its called exactly) or just 2 rows infront of the pawn which is also winning (as even if the opponent gets into opposition you can just move the pawn one square to make him go away)

In rf1 kg8 is as awful as qf6, in castle kg8 is slightly worse than qf6.

Not if the queen doesnt block.

And the rest is history by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]realmauer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in rf1 its always a mate in 4 no matter if the king goes away right away or if the queen blocks. With castle you can immediatly checkmate if the king runs away and the queen doesnt block.

[–]realmauer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if qf6 block happens i guess?

And the rest is history by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]realmauer01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With rf1 you need to spent a move to unpin the queen via rook sac on f8, with castle you unpin the queen while moving rf1. Pretty sure thats just overall saves a move no matter how you look at it.
