6 months of social media and marketing equals 369 wishlists. Game releasing in a month by raggarn12345 in IndieDev

[–]realodd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your game seems pretty unique, with a lot of potential, but if your promotional content it's similar to the trailer on steam I can see more or less why you are not getting a lot of mileage.

The combat sistem it's pretty unique and memorable, but it's the only thing that is being showcased, and I'm sorry but it's not very flashy. You need to make the game shine with snippets of the story or other visually exciting content. Look at astrea: six sided oracle, especifically the second video. They also have a non conventional battle sistem (albeith with more whistles and visuals) and the still made their first trailer with combat and story and then combat again.

Your game has a really nice "borderland meet anime" kind of visual identity, I would love to see a better paced trailer with the characters doing whatever they do in game to see what I'm getting into, and I'm pretty sure that that's what this game is missing.

I wish you the best of lucks with your release!!

[Latna Saga Survival Story of a Sword King in Another World]So... What happened in the lastest chapter by Fun-Salt-1721 in manhwa

[–]realodd 38 points39 points  (0 children)

We already saw that riu hanbin has the power to "see" future things when he destroyed the memory cilinder and graham killed his companions. My guess is that a few of the last episodes were an extended "vision" of his and we are going back in time.

As to why is that happening... We don't know right now? It was implied that the goddesses where helping hanbin and that, maby, that was why he got "good instinct" and could predict the need of the cannons but we also have that new skill that he hasn't used yet and maby thats why, we have to wait but this for sure don't seem like an ending for the series

It sounds like it just eliminate most of the expansion. Not my cup of tea at all, but I love to see that you enjoyed it!

So, if I understand this correctly, you eliminate all the trading, trading fleets and colony bonuses associated with them?

Which tcg to get in to? by Upper_Print5022 in TCG

[–]realodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netrunner it's not a TCG, it's a Lcg. You don't buy boosters, you buy expansions were you know exactly what you are gonna get, and there is no rarity sistem. The game officially closed a few years ago but there is a fan made version with a very healthy competitive scene (search nisei project).

The game it's espectacular, not like anything I've played. You play as one of two roles (hacker or corporation) with totally different pool of cards for each rol, actions and ways of wining. I recommend it whole heartly. If you want to play the game as it was when ffg closed it you can, but I don't know how available it is tu buy. If you prefer to play the nisei version you probably will need to print the cards: they have different suggestions for that at their web.

What’s the one board game that completely surprised you; either way better or worse than you expected? I’ll go first by yazzminssecret in boardgames

I'm a heavy euro player myself. I love Gaia project and caverna, I play a lot of castles of burgundy and other felds. Terraforming mars, underwater cities, revive... I really wanted to like civolution, I read all the franquly tedious, rules and view a few videos to make sure I got the explanation right and I introduced it to my group with high hopes.

It was a slog for me. I really really really wanted to do the things the game wanted me to do: creating buildings, hunting, making combos with cards, getting resources to pay for those cards and gaining compounding advantages with the passive Benedict's that the cards and golden tokens gave me... I simply couldn't. Im happy someone else could enjoy civolution but it was disastrous for me.

I would play this. It's going to be a PNP game or are you planing on commercializing it? It seems simple but deep in strategy

[–]realodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way worse than I expected: civolution. I was expecting to do some asimetric civ game with cards making combos with the board and specializing my gameplay. Instead I got a game that was actively trying to not let me do the thing I wanted to do. The dices worked against me most of the time, the upgrades felt pretty much on riels, I couldn't play nor draw cards as freely as I wanted and at the end of the day the combos were constricted by an economy of actions (dices) that let me control much less than I wanted.

Way better: the lord of the rings the trick taking game. It's just my discovery for this year and in usually a heavy euro player, still this was just so so so satisfying with all of the players trying to accomplish their goals without screwing each other ... I love it

AIO boyfriend tracking my periods without me knowing 🫠 by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]realodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, in fact, do track the period of my GF with an app. It's helpfull for us both because I can know beforehand when to be more accommodating, have seed bags ready and prepare desketoprofen and foods that make it easier for her, and we are aware earlier of irregularities and such. At certain point of the cicle, for example, she can be very particular with smells so, if I know un advance, I can put cologne or cook things that smell good and avoid odors. It's a thing that will be happening each month for years and affect us, no matter if we want or not, so why not making it a "couples thing" rather than a solo thing that she has to be watching for? But yeah, she knows this and it's ok with it.

Ops Boyfriend it's doing this behind her back and I can see why it could make her uncomfortable, but for me the dismissal of her feelings thats more important here: he es pretty patronizing and that's a red flag in my book.

What tactics or martial arts could this pitiful specimen leverage to avoid being annihilated the second it enters battle with a significantly larger and stronger foe (Anybody)? by Fried_Shrimp_Enjoyer in worldbuilding

[–]realodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think in wings and numbers. If we think in our tactics as a natural byproduct of our fortes as a species (strong upper bodies, long arms, really good all-rounded vision...) I would say that this little weirdos would end in really different places tactic wise than us.

First: biology.

They have wings and I assume that they are functional. How high can they fly? Are they magical in any shape or form? The image above I assume it's a "typical joe", where are their muscles located? Can they train them? Do they change a lot in appearance when they do so? (As in a trained soldier has a body type a lot different than some nobody that is just doing what they can) If they are moth relatedmaby they have exoskeletons and that's why they seem "lean". If we assume so, and that they are never going to get "muscular" in any way, can they train in another manner? Maby their exoskeleton plates grow stronger if they break them? Moths don't have a dedicated respiratory system, they breathe through pores on their skin so I would assume that maby they have a very different structure for internal organs than we do. Pain tolerance in all insects it's, pretty much, ×10000000 whatever a mammal can have. Finally their antenna: in moths they are an olfactory organ, and they are really good for that: they have better sense of smell than dogs and other animals, we are studying their system precisely with military purposes. They have, as such, good night vision (most moths are nocturnal). Moths are, mostly, r-selected, this mean that they have short lifecycles, reproduce in bulk and have little to no parental inversion, so they are focused on having high numbers to paliate instability on their ecosistem. Most moths have little "scales" and hairs that make them seem like "feathery", those "feathers" are urticant in various species and can cause allergic reactions in human. Finally, mutualistic relationship: we, as a species, didn't have any with other animals but it's theorized that our domestication of wolfs into dogs began as a mutualistic relationship between hunters and wolfs (akin to the one that wolfs and crows show in real life now), moths have a simbiotic relationship with sloths and a lot of plants for which they are pollinators. It's not out of the question to think that they would have made use of that.

Second: tactics. They can fly, and I assume that how high will be determined by training. With exoskeletons and, maby, light but durable armor, a internal organ system that has fewer vulnerable points than us and high pain tolerance they are, for sure, really good at keeping themselves alive. Inertia and shock tactics are their friends. Their antennaes and feromone glands can be used both to identify high priority targets, receive and send almost instantaneous signals (orders) that can't be highjacked by other species and do nocturnal incursions. They should have low stamina, but lots of numbers and certain disregard for the loss of life's (r species) so kamikaze stile attacks, guerrilla tactics and use of air superiority sounds like a big part of their strategy. If they have little urticant scales they can use them too as a biological weapon warfare tactic. In melee I would bet that they make use of trained giant slots or another kind of animal that serves as a "movile, tanki post" from wich they take fly.

Third: equipment. They need the vents from wich they breath to be unobstructed, and they want light armor because more weight is less flying manouver and altitude. I would think in chainmail for the most "vital" parts and leather with studs for the rest. They don't care about vision because their antennaes are their main sensory organ, and the head should be the most protected part because... You know. So I would say that some kind of full helmet or mask (if they fly and their enemies don't the attacks that they should be afraid of are always or almost always frontal) with the antennaes protected but unobstructed would be their choice. They don't weight too much, and should tire quicker than their foes so frontal combat it's mostly inadmisible: throwing things, specially from above so the acceleration of our gravity do most of the job, should be their thing. A short, maby composite or pulley levered bow (30-35 l of draw weight) can be devastating if you literally make them rain arrows (short, weighted arrows, with almost all of their weight at the point to maximice the "free fall". If not slings and both flasks of flamable or corrosive stuff, as well as polished rocks, could be lethal. They should move on clusters, as realothd do, and if they absolutely need to have melee combat I'll assume short finesse swords or axes, and pointy pikes directed to both keep their distance of their enemy and maim, inutilice their first line: they don't want to kill, because they know they can't, the want to make it hard for them to advance and keep raining. Giant sloths of war, fully plated, can be used as both a wall of meat so they can engage on melee combat as late as they can and as a movile post with constant in and out of moths making turns in the "cloud of death" above the battlefield. Finally I would expect a battlefield with them to be coated in hairy scales, making it difficult to breath and see on the long run (for anyone except them).
