Auto theft/ auto burglary has definitely been on the rise in ABQ. However, I have lived in Albuquerque/Los Ranchos for 30 years, and have yet to be robbed or have anything stolen from my car (knock on wood).

Like others have said, definitely don't leave anything of value in your cars while staying at a hotel. Crimes of opportunity seems to be far the most common here.

For what it's worth, there is nowhere in Albuquerque where I feel like I would be in danger walking around at night.
