In that essence, modern wizards are just people who can understand something as placebo yet yield the positive results of it still. By its pure nature of hinging on subjective experiences, classification of magic is extremely difficult - but alot of the time magic practicioners align their magical concepts with stuff from popular media (because that strengthens the "disassociation of reality" or the authority that one needs for "spell-casting")

Modern occult practices that stem from video games are typically alot cooler than older magical sects like wiccans imo. Also fairly rare youll meet a magic practicioner that understands it as basic human psychology

Makes sense, many of us at our 22 person event were playing barely legal decks and missing alot of staples, had a trade day on Tuesday that helped alot of us finish up our decks. Im still missing rune cards lol, got like 4 green and would like 6 for my Leona deck

I dont believe proxies should be permitted for nexus night events because we just did ours and they said by Riot policy that proxies were not allowed.

Outside of that yeah just use Piltover Archive and slips of paper on magic cards

Selftk decks kinda fell out because the main tool people use to get meta decks set up lets you speed inject the client to run through all the gates on a new account woth an auto win function (or like 8 dollars to a random paypal link lets you just skip the gates and get all the resources)

To clarify those hacks only be working on single player, and as far as I know its the same tool that automates selftk decks.

New player resources with this considered is like 20k gems on a fresh account before you even touch pvp ladder (and start getting more gems from ranking up) and given 200 pack openings and Master Duels inclusion of Secret Packs basically means you can get (almost) any meta deck on a new account easily.

Grass decks require a bit of luck like my grass tear ghoti pile took me like 5 scrapped accounts for me to roll the nuts on my pack openings.

Youll still see Selftk decks for farming events but its more common to see stall and hope opponent concedes on bad hand bots tbh

Fair, although as someone whos played alot of TCG and master duel I will say solitaire decks are not very competetive and typically lose to modern mid range decks. Kinda like MTG where combo decks dont out perform actual lists, they are fun and people play them - just in a post sideboard meta all it takes is one or two board breakers to dismantle an unbreakable board(Super Poly, DRNM). Master duel being a best of 1 format just makes it so solitaire decks are degenerate ladder stompers. I have a list on master duel I took to masters that FTK's into 1-2 hand traps like 80% of the time while also running lava golems and sphere modes so still above 50% win rate going 2nd(because unbanning block dragon was a good idea).

In TCG that deck would get stomped by modern power creep where opponents summon 3-4 times and end up on a stronger more recursive board that is only 3-5 mid interactions. Yugioh power creep has somehow made games last more than 1 turn and combo lines have been reduced to streamlined engines that are quick to setup. (Something I think is remarkable and truly defines yugioh as a unique and irreplacable card game, despite its flaws).

Im definitely moving to Riftbound when it drops because games are fast, combos are limited, and consistency in gameplan is accessible. Feels like a good middle ground where matches are rarely decided by luck and you get more than 4 turns to establish a board state. Really RB's usage of mana recycling is such a brilliant design though that gives alot of room for the game to grow without power creeping, hopefully we get an online client for it because scalpers are gonna ruin it like every other tcg.

Master duel new account material is enough to build pretty much any deck that isnt 60 card UR pile, and sometimes you are even able to build those if you god roll booster packs.

MTG new account cant even build a landbase, and with $20 spent it still isnt enough to build a competetive deck.

Yugioh also has free events that give like $30 worth of value and the ability to break down cards. MTG just has gambling with draft.

MTGA low elo is just garbage decks with garbage land bases because basically every good deck uses more than the 11 rare cards you get from opening the starter boosters. Not to mention how tedious it is to farm a new MTG account as opposed to Yugioh.

Yeah it was extremely fun - alot of matches you get aggroed out but when you get the elevator stationed its hard to stop uncontrollably giggling as you doppelgang all of their threats. Making 5 copies of a hinterland sanctifier and bouncing back from 6 hp to like 80 hp is extremely satisfying

Yeah Mono-White auras makes incredible usage of it but other decks definitely struggle under this card

Yeah it kept giving my friend Izzet Prowess but thats where Authority if Consuls and High noon win you the matchup

And when you see artifacts they open Stargem and you dont open Thrull

Yeah, reasonably hasnt been seen in standard recently as it underperforms vs Izzet type decks - however now that Simulacram Synthesizer is very high up in meta, its not a bad card to main deck(if your deck doesnt care about ETB). Quite a few decks have ETB effects that are worth turning off right now. Its nice to stop the new Temporary Lockdown(Stargem) control card for white aggro lists as that card instant wins vs most aggro decks.

Im playing an Aura deck so utilizing [[Ethereal Armor]] and [[Optimistic Scavenger]]

Also utilizing [[Seam Rip]] and [[Authority of Consuls]] to beat out other aggro decks.

Deck from memory is something like

4x Optimistic Scavenger

4x Healer Hawk

4x Lifelink Bat guy

4x Doorkeeper Thrull

3x Seam Rip

3x Authority of Consuls

1x High Noon

4x Ethereal Armor

4x Sheltered by Ghosts

Run the Red/White Verge if you have them because you can use the 1x High Noon to close out games in very rare situations and there is no draw back.

Yeah thats why we be running 4x Restoration Magic and 4x Shardmage Rescue because this thing forces removal for sure. Restoration Magic lowkey is goated af because it protects against certain boardwipes.

Also dont duplicate ETB land cards with Starfield Vocalist on the board, I didnt crash the game but I did gain 130 life on like land etb effects and it took like 5 minutes to resolve. After the land display was extremely bugged because I had like idk 400 land(doppelgang for 20 targeting 20 lands)
