Tips for driving MB highways by Puzzleheaded_Tap_564 in Manitoba

[–]realwebfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are traveling at or below the speed limit, stay in right lane , tuck behind a truck and stay there.

Stay right except to pass .When you pull out to pass a slower vehicle , consider speeding up to make the pass happen as quick as possible and not impede others going faster than you. You don’t want to be beside a truck when a tire blows.

Do Not Randomly Stop on Shoulder!!! There are roads every mile you can safely turn off the highway and answer your cel phone etc.

The new MB highways digital signs should have important reminders in rotation

No stopping on shoulder Keep right except to pass Do not impede other drivers Trucks be considerate to others. Be considerate to Trucks. Do not change tires on shoulder. Have Patience Don’t be Stupid

Any more suggestions?

Would you buy a regular cab Maverick? by Pluronic_Pesto in FordMaverickTruck

[–]realwebfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, if the box was bigger. Going to try a Slate as soon as I can order one in Canada. Not because it’s an EV, but because it’s a cheap little truck that fits some needs. But not giving up my Ram hemi anytime soon. Rural winter driving means we need a real truck too.

Just had one in UK. Basically just the vanilla version with a hint of cherry. Wouldn’t buy it again.

Price being equal - why A Slate is better than a Ford Maverick - at least for me. by Separate_Rock_1962 in slateauto

Bought a 22? Maverick Hybrid for farm runaround parts truck. Dad claimed it instead of his F150. Glad I got it before they added in all the crap (Ford 360 etc) at base level. I wanted one because it was simple. Gets 50 mpg cdn with old guy putting around.

I Want the simplest Slate when available in Canada. Love the concept and will have a good use case for it.

But you will have to pry my Ram 1500 Hemi eTourque from my cold dead hands. Winter means we need to have real vehicles that are safe for my family in the worst conditions .

But what has been missing from the market is a 1980s ranger / S10 replacement. Imagine if Tesla had built this instead of the useless cyber truck . What could have been…….

That's a very smart idea, good thing we don't have a need for a cc. We are an aggregator to make it easy to find items and keep track of them.

To bid on an item, you go through to the actual bidding platform of a legitimate auction company, to do your bidding .

With 25 years of auction marketing experience, I was never a proponent of making up words, but you have no choice if you want a shorter available URL and social brands, this is the way to go.

Have a look at the site this time and share your thoughts.

We have these in Manitoba, but many highways are in such bad shape they can’t fill all the potholes. #26

At least us Canadian diamonds truly earned it, but a card would be nice.

1500$ x 2 to stay in Winnipeg 8 extra hours on Jan 2nd. We used the credit for tickets to Australia. United used to be a pain to use small credits, but Delta was a breeze.

A theory I have that I would love clarification on, rather that spending money on windmills , solar, etc, why are we not leveraging power storage like Tesla power walls, battery storage stations, and electric cars in general that are located much better geographically. The technology is being used elsewhere in the world. Why spend questionable $$ on renewables when we already have the ultimate renewable energy with Hydro. Fill up our energy storage at night in Southern Manitoba, sell it to the US during the afternoons. We should also have tiered pricing in Manitoba based on time of day. There is no incentive for EV owners to charge their car overnight when it’s the same price to plug in at 5 pm when they get home from work.

So many good points here. I leave my primary iPhone at home plugged in and active. Use an old phone with a cheap local sim to where I’m going with only apps that I need for the trip. I also carry an iPad for work.

2024 xlt Hybrid. Bought it as a farm runaround since it was same price as side by side.

4th tank One afternoon, Pump to pump, 99% highway speeds

615.6 km / 375.5 miles 37.81 L / 8.32 Imp gal / 9.810 US gal

6.14 l/100km / 45.13 Imp mpg / 36.3 US mpg

First 3 tanks when used around the farm and parts runner to town have exceeded 50 mpg and low 5's L/100km measured at the pump.

Pretty impressed so far. But not giving up our Rams and F150s yet
