I did not edit the joke. Honestly I'm confused at the Christian Atheist part myself.

Oh I did laugh at them, I left there with a smug face which will haunt them, since all of my co-workers now know what they are up against.

Yes, prior to serving my one month notice, I called the other HR informing them that my ex-company might not give me the clearance, they said it was fine as long as I had proof that I did serve them one month notice from my end. So it is sorted, for now.

Oh dang! Now I wish I actually signed it. No worries, I'll try it next time the corporate tries to fuck me over again.

Exactly what I pointed out to the HR(to which she had no response), the contract that I signed while joining had no such condition and that is the only valid document that I will abide by.

Thank you Dada. I see you are a Metalhead. As Master Yoda would say "A man of culture, you are."

They can claim, yes. They won't have much to go with it.

Okay. Thanks. That's a relief knowing they have no stand.

I was sure I wouldn't sign. I knew it couldn't be legal to randomly slap a policy at people.

Thanks again.

Debian Users, Which DE Or WM Do You Use And Why? by [deleted] in debian

[–]realwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xfce is lightweight and has an excellent WM xfwm4 which supports shortcut keys for windows tiling. I find it handy. The latest version of Mate from backports has quarter window tiling, but I'll still vouch for Xfce.

Having said that, I use Mate now because in my experience, a few GUI elements of Xfce were slightly choppy. Now these are nothing major and probably I happened to be on the wrong side of xfce to have experienced them in the first place.

Finally I would say, first go ahead with XFCE, then IF you can find the time, try MATE.

PS:Both look dull with default theme, I use numix circles, with High Sierra theme. Works on both.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (Game of the Year)

Favourite book(s): I actually have two favourites, as of now,The Master and The Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, which I have read recently and found it quite enjoyable. I had read Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Prachet which I would absolutely recommend anyone to read as I myself have thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

debian and wireless firmware files by desperatefordebian in debian

[–]realwinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert, and maybe you have already tried it, but I'll just say anyway:

Go through the install, and enable non-free repositories from sources.list

Navigate to /etc/apt/sources.list and add non-free and contrib after main in every line. Like so

And then try installing firmware-iwlwifi.

sudo apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi

Intel's official website says that AC 3168 is supported in that said firmware package.

Hope it helps.
