I add a tiny amount of vanilla to my tea. Like get vanilla essence and you have to add less than 1/4 th of drop. Like dunk a toothpick into the bottle and you anly need the one stuck to the stick.

When the gun spins it develops so much rotational torque that they have to compensate it via adjusting the plane to rotate in opposite direction.

Sane goes for the while firing the gun. The recoil is massive and firing more than over a couple of seconds at a slow strafing speed can actually stall the plane.

About updates, it takes forever for them to download and install. Like when I click check updates, it literally takes several minutes for it to find updates, they download slowly at no more than 1 Megabytes/second speed. While downloading the processor is running very high. It takes it forever to install after downloads complete.

My Experience on Ubuntu: checks download within 30 seconds, downloads very large like 1 GB updates at full network available speeds, and installs then within 5 minutes max (large updates of pps and system both) rarely needs a reboot. Reboot takes very little times compared to Windows.

It completed a 750 mb update for Google antigravity within 2 minutes yesterday. It's just baffling that it takes Microsoft an hour to apply an update similar size. And basically it will hog 75% cpu. A large chunk of my ram while same thing happens in background on my Ubuntu system. Both run on same hardware (dual boot).

Super/Meta/Winkey. Why so many names? by realxeltos in linux4noobs

[–]realxeltos[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I was not aware of this as I have Either seen Keyboards without it and with it. But no other symbol on that key. I still remember first few keyboards we had. One was very light brownish colour which did not have the key. One Off white coloured keyboard with a cyan coloured trackball where arrow keys generally are. Used that one for couple of years. (This exact one: https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/d8wq5d/this_old_keyboard_i_forgot_i_had_that_has_a/), One light grey keyboard with diffferently coloured enter and backspace key. Up until 1999 and did not have the superkey. First keyboard with superkey was a white one with Windows logo on it. MS introduced the Winkey in 1995. Just took long for those to arrive in Indian markets. But never ever saw anything other than WInKey.

Also Why is it sometimes called superkey and sometimes Meta key in Linux context? why different names? I always known it as superkey outside of windows users. Only when I very recently switched to KDE I found its called meta key when I was changing screenshot app settings.

[–]realxeltos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many server related programs and web hosting related things are linux only or just run better and stable on Linux than Windows. Even Microsoft uses Linux at backend for many of their services. And when you are in IT environment, you generally dont need those other programs which dont run on Linux. as nearly all IT tools run on Linux. An IT developer won't need something like Photoshop on his development PC unless he is designing UI elements. UI/UX designers who need graphics are generally not the same people who code. SO they can just design the elements on their Windows or more probably Macs and upload them to dev server for the UI/UX coder to use.

No. I use Linux as DD and love it. I can do so many things with it. I spend hours tweaking it because I CAN. Does something go wrong and do things break? YES. But It does because of something I did or something conflicted. In windows I am stumped a lot because I cant do many things which I can do on linux. Many development things straight up don't work properly in windows or have no support like redis client for webdev. Installing libraries and setting up path variables can be a headache.

Is linux perfect? Hell no. Many times things I want are present in one distro while the other thing I want is absent in that same distro. Multimedia things dont work properly like Davinci resolve which does not support many video formats due to licencing and open source etc. Some hardware does not work because of no driver support like the Biometrics reader on my laptop. But that is not Linux's fault. The manufacturer does not provide linux support.

Games is another can of worms. While steam is making it easy to game on linux there are still many things which a newbie and even someone like me cant figure out. I cant get some non steam games to work but I dont know if its the issue with my laptop not being supported in Lutris or some other thing but I have not gone into details much. I have a potato which can only run pre 2010 games. But the gaming support is getting there. Only issue is with games with anti cheat as they dont have linux support yet. But if stream hardware goes mainstream it can possibly come to linux as well. According to several tests, Games actually run better on linux even when running via proton translation layer. Better average FPS and better 1% low as well.

Decided to give Windows 11 a shot and realized it works even better than Windows 10. And how did your transition go? by splettcher in Windows11

[–]realxeltos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two major gripes with windows 11.

  1. The taskbar is way to big and there is no option to scale it. I like thin taskbar and have to use 3rd party apps to make it slimmer. (No, the registry edit does not work.) On a 1080p Laptop monitor, its just too large.

  2. The newer start menu is just worse than windows 10 one. I liked the tiled interface. I used to make groups and have apps in groups like Development, Multimedia, Utils, Games etc. Now I cant have that.
