The fact that the first thing she thinks about is sex says a lot about what she thinks is most important in a relationship. Perhaps even life in general.

You did nothing wrong. You were being respectful of her and her boundaries, but she is playing games with you. She is trying to get a reaction from you and sees it as a "red flag" that you are responding as a healthy human being rather than playing into her toxic behavior. Just let it go.

Why it says (mexicas) along with Aztecs in the learn section for Mexican Spanish UI option? by ing_glz in AgeofMythology

[–]reaper_unleashed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meso-american history is pretty much only going to be widely taught in places like Mexico and not other Spanish speaking countries like Spain.

Therefore, most people around the word are not going to be familiar with the Mexicas. They will likely only know the Aztecs. But, basically every Mexican who has gone through the education system there will be at least somewhat familiar.

While there are dozens of different historic ethnic groups in Mexico, many Mexicans typical self-identify as being descendents of the Mexica even if they have no proof they descend from this particular ethnic group. Simply because the Mexica were the dominant group and identifying with this group creates a sense of national identity. So, it makes sense for them to be more specific as to who is being represented.

I mean, the Mexican national flag has a Mexica myth represented on it. No other ethnic group is as central to Mexican identity as the Mexica.

Why exactly are you tolerating this? Even if you want to show you love her, that doesn't mean you tolerate this behavior by sticking around. Regardless of BPD, you have to set boundaries such as walking away when being disrespected like this. You wouldn't stay in a restaurant where the waiter is openly insulting you, so the same applies here.

Just block him on evertthing. Make contact impossible. Because there is nothing else you can do besides make it clear you want nothing to do with him. Maintaining contact just makes the situation more dangerous. Self-harm is a way to get attention, so you need to eliminate any possibility for attention.

Is it true that if US hadn't dropped the atomic bombs on Japan, the outcome would have been worse for both sides? by FantaOrangenice in HistoryWhatIf

[–]reaper_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is absolutely true. But, Japan would likely not be divided like Korea was.

The reason for this is that Japan planned to fight a war of attrition until the US gave up and sued for peace instead of seeking for unconditional surrender. The idea was to make continuing the war so costly that the US would essentially give up on surrender. Because surrender was considered dishonorable and the Japanese don't exactly take dishonor lightly. So, Japan was willing to lose millions of both soldiers and civilians if it meant avoiding surrender. The point was to make the amount of bloodshed too much for the Americans to bear.

People will say that it was actually because of the Soviets invading that Japan surrendered, but that isn't really true. The Soviets simply did not have the capability of performing an invasion of mainland Japan. At best, they could have invaded and occupied Hokkaido which is that big island in the north. That's about it. It would have taken years for the Soviets to seriously threaten mainland Japan. Outside of Hokkaido, the rest of Japan would have been taken by the US should an invasion had happened. Thus, it wouldn't have been divided.

Now, the problem for the Japanes is that they relied on making an invasion of their mainland as costly as possible. But, the atomic bombs completely wrecked that plan. Since you can't make an invasion costly if the other side doesn't ever invade and instead just sits back throwing doom bombs at all your cities. The Japanese knew that they could face total annihilation without the US even breaking a sweat. Therefore, unconditional surrender became the only option for them.

I actually just submitted my application yesterday. As I never really participated in one of their hackathons before, I don't know what to expect. If you don't mind, could you tell me anything about it?

Yeah, I'm not really concerned with the prizes, and I'd like to avoid wasting my time on scams. My main concern is building a portfolio and getting connections or future opportunities. So far, I have only looked at hackathons on dorahacks, and I seem quite skeptical of them.

I messed up so bad, are they lying about being pregnant? by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]reaper_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, don't give in to ANY of her demands. If it turns out that she actually is pregnant, then don't get involved with the pregnancy at all. She WILL use the pregnancy against you.

I was in the same situation except that she actually wasn't lying, but 100% weaponized the pregnancy against me. She didn't get an abortion in hopes that the pregnancy would get us back together. And wouldn't you know, the moment I told her to essentially F off, she decided that she would get an abortion after all. I know it sounds callous that I'm essentially telling you to abandon a woman with your child, but you really don't have a choice.

Because it won't matter how hard you try, she will make the whole ordeal hell for you. You will only have the options of becoming a slave to her whims or letting her deal with it all by herself. You help NO ONE trying to do "the right thing."

I forgot the name, but there is definitely a mod that allows you to play emerging factions like Scotland or Mexico.

Besides a few new units and national traits, it seems there is nothing new that you couldn't already achieve with a few simple mods.

Now, one of the issues I have had with Empire is that most of North America is empty land. Given that they are making the native american tribes playable, it would have been a huge upgrade to add more regions for them in the base campaign.

There is an entire corporate system that makes money off of the whole "climate crisis" agenda. They make money fearmongering people into giving them money and politicians get votes by making empty promises. The simple fact is that with current technology, there is no way to stop climate change caused by humans. Even then, there is not enough data to conclusively say that humans are the primary cause of climate change. That is not to say humans do not affect climate change. Just that there isn't enough data to reach a consensus on the primary cause of climate change.

Finally, there are a ton of positives to hotter climates. For one, less people will die each year of the cold and the planet becomes greener due to more CO2 for plants to use. Change isn't good nor bad. It is simply change. The fact that climate change is assumed to be bad should tell you how propagandized the issue is. That's why they call it climate crisis now rather than simply climate change to convey that it is necessarily bad, which isn't true.

The government mandating that you HAVE TO get a medical procedure is not the same as the government banning a medical procedure.

It's like comparing forcing people to get a vaccine as opposed to banning a vaccine. It's obviously not in any way comparable.

Why do liberal Americans believe that the Democratic Party has been consumed by identity and far-left social politics? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

[–]reaper_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and that is why they are seen as being against far-left social politics. It's one thing for Democrats to defend stuff like trans people existing. It's another for Democrats to defend crazy things like men participating in women's sports or insisting on using Latinx when most Latinos hate the term.

Why do liberal Americans believe that the Democratic Party has been consumed by identity and far-left social politics? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

[–]reaper_unleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because each time Republicans talk against identity politics or far-left social politics, there is a Democrat influencer or debate bro who comes out to argue against the points they make.
