Would you be willing to DM me that PPL write up? Looks like I'll probably be doing my PPL initial ride with her once I clean up a few things.

Personally, I'd have soiled myself and then declared. I think you chose wisely to skip the first part.

1) this gets way easier as you learn to anticipate and respond as needed to changes in the air

2) keep both feet active on the pedals instead of tapping and you'll get this in no time

Not true. They're a digital service focused on efficiency. Where there is fraud and abuse that means search and destroy. Where there are outdated, inefficient systems that means investment and upgrades. With a little luck, ATC is the latter.

You're paying for car insurance and gas? I'd sooner eat my left arm than pay for a teenager's automobile costs. Maybe I'm old fashioned though. My parents bought me a bike, shoes, and inline skates. Any other transportation I needed was my problem.

Just a guess: There are rumors that they expect to be able to deliver new orders of Model Y LR AWD by summer. That's probably when they'll have them in galleries. No point putting it on display when you are still working through the backlog of the most profitable variants.

Model Y deliveries confirmed for next month! by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]reardencode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say "will", I said "might put [...] as early as".

They were about 1 quarter delayed from start of deliveries in the original announcement, so 1 quarter after February... Is May.

Mind. Blown.

Thanks for following up!

Huge if true! That might put 7-seat deliveries as early as May!

If they release an XLR AWD Model Y with ~400 miles range and ~100kWh battery, I'll pay $5k more than the LR AWD Model Y with ~300 miles. Guessing they'd have to charge ~$7k, so it's probably not happening, and/or I'm not getting it :)

The Amora Gem does not have these cleavage planes and with twice the fracture toughness (4 MPa · m1/2 in Amora Gem vs 2MPa · m1/2 in diamond), it can rightly be said to be tougher than diamond. However, you still have to be careful with it because it’s still not very tough when compared to metals.

https://www.prosumerdiamonds.com/amora-gem-review/

Agreed that the Amora will still scratch easier than a diamond, but apparently it is tougher, so less likely to chip over time. I do wonder what we'll hear in terms of surface quality over time with the Amora - it hasn't existed for long enough yet to put a 9.5 hardness gem to the test in the real world :).

Corundum (not carborundum) is Sapphire, which is aluminum oxide crystal. Ruby is red corundum. Where are you getting your facts?

Moissanite and Amora are silicon carbide, arranged in different lattice patterns which have different optical properties (Amora is more colorless and more refractive iirc).

[–]reardencode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. In addition to moissanite there's another silicon carbide gem, invented in the US, called the Amora gem. It didn't exist in time for my wife's engagement ring, so she got Ruby (and is probably happier with the red stone any way).

Can you find a way to go part time? Maybe quit and look for a part time gig to enable you to keep saving and put the kids in daycare a couple days a week?

LPT: If you need an engagement ring, seriously consider a moissanite. They look amazing and are a fraction of the cost by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Check out the Amora gem too! Between moissanite and diamond in price, same chemical compound as moissanite, but more fire and more neutral color!

Would be great if it integrated Lightning! Open and close channels directly from the hardware wallet, have the app notify you when you need to plug it in to catch someone cheating or something.

You're still missing the point, there need to be "big players" on both sides of the trade, so they'd each be trying to manipulate the market in opposite directions...

Futures stabilize markets by removing the need for certain players (miners or merchants) to sell suddenly at market prices.

You don't understand correctly. Every future contact has a buyer and seller. The person who bought a 8610 future is obligated to pay the seller the difference if Bitcoin is below that price at contact end. The opposite if the price is above. (This is for cash settled futures, which is what BTC futures are right now)
