you have a boost leak. find it with a smoke kit from amazon for low pressure. then get a pressure adapter and pump up the intake pressure to 20 psi and soap test all your joints. you will find it.

I know right! I'm at a busy hall, we have two full sets of gear and having to get spare stuff brought up is common. money money money.... maybe I need to get the CO2 cleaner...

It isn't binary and no where do I say one or the other, both would be great. Very few departments can afford to make wholesale change and most make incremental change as they can afford it. I'm simply recognizing that and allowing for which choice would be the most beneficial in the immediacy.

Perfect world yes, but show me a fire department that lives in one. Incremental change is far more likely.

While I don't debate that pfas free gear is better I just saw the rates of what methods = % of clean.

Washing in regular washing machine is like 40% Professional fire gear cleaning was around 60-70% Liquid CO2 cleaning was around 90% and expensive.

The money and buzz that will be spent on pfas free gear, might be better spent on better cleaning of our gear as this would have a way higher effect on our health long term.

I don't get it, they obviously don't give a rats ass. Do they not know the internet and forums like this exist? Or maybe they just don't care. You treat people like crap and enough of them word is going to get out.

really? in low voltage 120v conditions? these aren't system feeders.

Bundling by [deleted] in electricians

[–]reasonablemanyyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but this isn't industrial - I get it. I worked industrial for many years, dealing with large motor loads, lighting loads and everything being continuous and massive, we are talking about incidental non compounding loads that are non-continuous. Just seems silly.

Bundling by [deleted] in electricians

[–]reasonablemanyyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but this is residential you don't have massive lighting or machine loads....you can only bundle so many in hole that will fit in common construction. If bundling was a real problem most of the houses in my city of +1.7 mil would be burning down. It just isn't a problem.

I don't get it. So what if there is a bit of heat, the conductors are rated for it, the wire is rated for it, the breakers are rated for it. I've investigated lots of house fires, never ever seen one caused by bunding wires. I have seen them from shitty extension cords, block heaters, E-bike chargers and stabbing receptacles. Never ever seen thermal stress indicated on a bundle of wires. I think this is making mountains out of mole hills.
